Background / History

Nuwa and her elder brother Fuxi originated as the manifestations of Pangu’s Primordial Pure Yin and Primordial Pure Yang Qi. Their origins place them above Di Jun and Tai Yi in the Primordial hierarchy; Nuwa’s unique foundation made her suited to become a Sage and the future spokesperson of the Humanity Dao. 86

Before joining the Witch Race through marriage, Nuwa served as the Demon Race’s Empress Wa. She and Fuxi accepted Di Jun and Tai Yi’s invitation after being persuaded that it would benefit the Demon Race’s living beings. In practice, they received little authority, merit, or fortune compared with the Demon Race’s ruling brothers. 85 92

Hongjun entered Nuwa’s dream and directed her toward sainthood: she needed to create humans, and the necessary spiritual soil was held by Houtu.
