Background / History

Before ascending, the Sea God was a top-tier soul tool master. He personally created the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, a god-level soul tool later identified as the Sea God’s Heart and the key to opening his true inheritance. He attained godhood by gathering faith energy over a long period, a path Nan Feng estimates requires at least a thousand years. 32 37 143

After ascending to the God Realm, he did not completely sever his ties to the mortal world. He maintained Sea God Island’s trial system, continued to observe its inhabitants, and remained willing to answer requests that he considered reasonable. 81 141

Nan Feng initially sought the Sea God’s inheritance, but the Sea God rejected him because Nan Feng’s Death Spider Emperor and Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor possessed ultimate dark attributes incompatible with Sea God power. Rather than expel him, the Sea God directed him toward the Capital of Slaughter. 1 2 141

Nan Feng later spent several years on Sea God Island researching soul tools. The Sea God allowed him to remain, assisted with testing arrays and obtaining deep-sea materials, and provided technical advice despite being unable to resolve the durability issue in Nan Feng’s original resonance-device design. 32 33

The Sea God’s presence continues to shape Sea God Island’s hierarchy, defenses, and cultivation system.
