Background
After ascending to the God Realm, the Angel God severed her ties with the mortal world. She nevertheless left behind her divine inheritance, from which the Six-Winged Angel family descended, and a wisp of divine will within the Angel God Temple to await a worthy successor. She holds that mortals must resolve their own affairs rather than depend on divine intervention. 80 81
Spirit Hall originated as the Church of Light, a religious organization devoted to worshipping the Angel God, before becoming a major soul master institution. 106
The Angel God is close to the God of Goodness and belongs to the light-aligned deities. During Nan Feng's fifth Trial of the God of Evil, the God of Goodness brought the Angel God's divine sense into the illusion to test him with “the purest light.” 81 144
Manifestations
The Angel God is principally represented in the mortal realm by the solemn Angel God Statue in the Angel God Temple. When Qian Daoliu desperately pleaded for aid, her divine will manifested as a sacred, majestic, but exceptionally cold and indifferent voice. 23 80
- Her temple is a site of divine inheritance and is normally protected by Angelic Divine Power. 77
- Her divine will can refuse communication with the Angel family's Great Worship, as it did after judging its descendants unworthy of her attention. 125
- In Nan Feng's trial illusion, she appeared as a woman wielding a flaming Holy Sword. 81 97
Abilities & Divine Authority
Angelic Divine Power
Angelic Divine Power is sacred power associated with the Angel God's inheritance and temple.
- Qian Daoliu can draw upon it as the Angel God's Great Worship. 77 109
- It can completely purify a soul; the Angel God identifies this as the only way to end an ongoing Trial of the God of Evil through outside intervention. 80
- Such purification annihilates the target's body and soul, as demonstrated when Qian Daoliu used it to end Qian Xunji's suffering. 80
Angel God Inheritance
The Angel God left an inheritance system in the mortal realm for a suitable successor.
- The inheritance is centered on the Angel God Temple. 77 80
- Qian Daoliu avoided opening the trials for Qian Xunji because he believed his son's temperament was insufficient to survive them. 77 86
- Qian Renxue is a direct descendant of the Angel God and is considered a potential future inheritor, though Nan Feng believes she requires substantial tempering before she could pass the trials. 113
Holy Sword and Angel God Fire
Within Nan Feng's fifth trial illusion, the Angel God relentlessly pursued him with a flaming Holy Sword.
- Nan Feng states that she killed him more than a hundred times in the illusion. 81 97
- Her attacks included cutting him apart with holy light and burning his body and soul to ash with Angel God Fire. 97
- The experience left Nan Feng fearful of glowing or hot objects and reluctant to fight. 97
Personality
The Angel God is detached, proud, and uncompromising. Having overcome the catastrophe of her own era without asking others for help, she expects mortals—and especially her descendants—to face their own hardships rather than seek rescue from a deity. 81
Her detachment does not stem from ignorance of the mortal realm. When awakened by Qian Daoliu, she recognizes the decline of the Angel family's pride and justice, but considers its failings the responsibility of the living rather than a matter for divine correction. 80
Relationships
- God of Goodness — Close associate in the God Realm; the two appeared together during Nan Feng's fifth trial, where the God of Goodness used the Angel God's light to test him. 81 144
- Qian Daoliu — Great Worship and descendant who serves the Angel God Temple; she rebukes his protection of the family's misconduct and ultimately refuses to intervene in Qian Xunji's trial. 80 125
- Qian Renxue — Direct descendant and possible inheritor of the Angel God's divine position. 113
- Qian Xunji — Descendant whose failure in the God of Evil's trial prompted Qian Daoliu's plea to the Angel God; she refused to save him. 80
- Nan Feng — Target of the Angel God's attacks during the fifth Trial of the God of Evil; he was repeatedly killed by her in an illusion. 81 97
- God of Evil — Another God King whose trial involved the Angel God’s divine sense; he later ceased contesting Qian Xunji's death “for the sake of the Angel.” 81 82
- Spirit Hall — Its predecessor, the Church of Light, worshipped the Angel God. 106
Story Role
Qian Xunji's Trial
When Qian Xunji became trapped in the God of Evil's First Trial, Qian Daoliu invoked the Angel God's divine will in the Angel God Temple. The Angel God declared that the Evil God's trials allow only success or death and refused to interfere in an affair caused by Qian Xunji's own greed for power. 80
She instructed Qian Daoliu that Angelic Divine Power could purify Qian Xunji's soul, forcing him to choose between allowing his son’s endless torment to continue or ending it through annihilation. 80
Withdrawal from the Angel Family
The Angel God openly questioned whether her descendants still possessed the Angel family's original pride and justice. Qian Daoliu could not answer, and her divine will withdrew after declaring that the family's future was its own responsibility. 80
Later, when Qian Daoliu attempted to call upon the Angel God Temple's power against Nan Feng, the temple gave no response, confirming that her divine consciousness had shut him out. 125
God Realm Observation
The Angel God later joined the God of Goodness, God of Evil, Sea God Poseidon, Asura God, Goddess of Life, and God of Destruction in watching Nan Feng's progress through the God of Evil's trial. 82
