Qian Daoliu presides over Tai Yi's martial soul awakening alongside Spirit Hall's nine great elders. Tai Yi's innate level-20 soul power and twin martial souls leave him excited by the possibility that Spirit Hall may produce another god in its generation. 1

Qian Daoliu found Tai Yi as an infant while the child radiated pure solar energy, which resonated with the Six-Winged Angel martial souls of Qian Daoliu and Qian Renxue. He adopted Tai Yi, raised him alongside Qian Renxue, and has long regarded their eventual marriage as natural. 1

As Tai Yi's adoptive grandfather, he confirms that Tai Yi's constitution can bear a thousand-year soul ring and supports his early cultivation. After learning of Tai Yi's dual divine inheritances, he resolves to have the Worship Hall elders train Tai Yi in rotation so that his potential is not wasted. 3 4

He later accompanies Tai Yi to Heaven Dou City and presses Qian Renxue to abandon her undercover identity as Xue Qinghe, believing the mission is wasting her talent and delaying her cultivation. 3 7 8

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Qian Daoliu trusts Tai Yi's judgment despite the dangers of the spring. He protects Tai Yi and Qian Renxue during the confrontation with Dugu Bo, prevents Dugu Bo's escape, and orders Yue Guan to finish him. 9 10 He promises Yue Guan the Strange Velvet Chrysanthemum, helping secure Yue Guan's allegiance to the Elder Palace. 11

When Tai Yi and Qian Renxue leave Spirit City, Qian Daoliu secretly assigns Golden Crocodile Douluo to guard them. After Yue Guan and Gui Mei report Bibi Dong's order to eliminate Tai Yi and cripple Qian Renxue, he treats the hostile factions' planned interception as an opportunity to destroy them. 20 21

Qian Daoliu arrives after receiving word that Tang Hao may be near Notting City. He supports Tai Yi and Qian Renxue's efforts to expose the factions targeting them, resolves to eliminate Tang Hao and Tang San, and later conceals himself to oversee the trap outside Soto City. 28 33 34

Qian Daoliu reveals the truth concerning Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong to Qian Renxue after she learns of it from Tai Yi. Accepting that he is destined to sacrifice himself for Qian Renxue's godhood trials, he entrusts her protection to Tai Yi and continues guarding them from the shadows. 34

He personally leads Spirit Hall's trap against the sects and empires outside Soto City, revealing himself as a Level 99 Peerless Douluo. He subsequently divides his forces to pursue the fleeing enemies and kills Yu Luomian. 36 38 He later personally executes Tang Hao and has Yue Guan and Gui Mei extract Tang Hao's spirit bones, including the Clear Sky Sect inheritance bones. 44

Following Tai Yi and Qian Renxue's return from the Star Dou Forest, Qian Daoliu is astonished by their rapid advancement and accepts Life Gold for the Worship Hall elders. 122 He subsequently presides over Tai Yi's coronation as Spirit Hall's new Pope, personally presenting him with the Purple-Gold Nine-Curved Crown and Papal Scepter. 129

When Tai Yi reveals that Bibi Dong survived and has been spreading an evil cultivation method that creates Evil Soul Masters, Qian Daoliu regards the threat as an attack on Spirit Hall's faith and moral foundation. During the final battle against the Star Luo Empire, Qian Daoliu fights beside Golden Crocodile Douluo as one of Spirit Hall Empire's two Ultimate Douluos. Together, they overpower Dai Feng and Zhu Lingxin's corrupted Hell White Tiger Martial Soul Fusion Skill, with Qian Daoliu shattering it using a longsword-shaped divine artifact refined by Tai Yi. 169 170

Personality

Qian Daoliu is deeply protective of his family, particularly Qian Renxue and Tai Yi. He repeatedly places their cultivation, safety, and future godhood above political convenience, whether by urging Qian Renxue to return from Heaven Dou, assigning covert protection to the pair, or committing Elder Palace resources to their training. 7 15 20

He is also pragmatic and ruthless toward threats. He orders Dugu Bo's death rather than permit his escape, turns an attempted ambush into a purge of hostile factions, and eliminates the Blue Silver King together with every possible remnant of its origin. 10 21 94

Despite his conflict with Bibi Dong, Qian Daoliu considers the Qian family indebted to her and initially remains concerned about Spirit Hall's overall strength. He attempts to placate her by providing incomplete immortal-herb fruits for Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan. 19
