"Who's there?"
Dr. Gero sensed someone behind him and spun around instantly, his eyes landing on Son Goku and his group. To his surprise, the one leading them was nothing more than a half-grown boy.
"Hypnotic Trance!"
Gamos's eyes emitted a peculiar ripple of energy. Dr. Gero's gaze immediately went vacant, his expression turning dazed and sleepy.
"Who is this guy?"
Son Goku was puzzled. It was incredibly strange to find someone living alone in this underground lair in the middle of the wilderness.
Vegeta scanned the surrounding equipment, seemingly sensing something, and spoke up.
"These must be some kind of technological weapons! Are they trying to build robots? What a pity. In the face of a Saiyan's absolute power, this trash isn't even worth mentioning."
The arrogant Vegeta suddenly recalled the history of Planet Vegeta. The original inhabitants of that world had used technology to fight the Saiyans, only to be wiped out by them. This made him hold the power of technology in deep contempt.
"Not worth mentioning? That only proves you're a frog at the bottom of a well. The power of these androids is such that any one of them could easily crush a Super Saiyan, and some even possess combat power reaching over two billion."
"That galactic emperor Frieza, who once filled you with such terror, would be nothing but a speck of dust in front of these androids."
"You!"
Vegeta glared at Gamos, furious that this guy would expose his dark history. As the Prince of Saiyans, he had indeed once been Frieza's subordinate—a stain on his life. Having it brought up again by this person made Vegeta feel deeply humiliated.
However, he quickly regained his composure, crossed his arms over his chest, and let out a cold snort.
"That was the past. The current me could kill Frieza with a single finger."
Watching these two insult his lord, Ginyu couldn't sit still any longer and shouted out.
"What are you so smug about? You can improve, and Lord Frieza can improve too! Lord Frieza will never lose to you."
Seeing Ginyu roaring, Launch flicked him hard on the forehead.
"Shut your mouth."
Gamos ignored them all and began using Mind Reading to extract memories from Dr. Gero.
He had to admit, Dr. Gero was a true genius. His intellect was on par with Bulma's, though one excelled in physical inventions while the other specialized in bio-warriors.
Gamos's hands moved in a blur, tapping rapidly across the console, and soon he pulled up all the data on the androids.
At this moment, Gamos's eyes acted like a scanner, his brain processing information at lightning speed. In less than five minutes, he had mastered everything in the facility.
"You really are something, Dr. Gero. These androids are nothing short of a nightmare for humanity."
Looking at the data on the screen, even Gamos couldn't help but feel a chill. Compared to the combat power in the original timeline, the strength of these androids was far more terrifying.
The androids prior to Android 13 had all been destroyed. From Android 13 through Android 18, even the weakest possessed the combat power of the original Perfect Cell.
In particular, for this Cell, Dr. Gero had actually collected cells from Super Saiyan Blue—specifically, the cells of Dark Son Goku and Dark Vegeta.
Not only that, he had even obtained cells from Kefla, and these had been fully integrated into the Cell embryo.
According to the computer's calculations, this version of Cell didn't need to absorb any androids; he was already in his perfect form.
"Truly terrifying!"
Gamos remarked with a sigh.
Meanwhile, Son Goku frowned as he stared at a logo on the wall, lost in thought. He felt like he had seen that emblem somewhere before.
"Oh, I remember now! This is the logo of the Red Ribbon Army. I saw Android 8 when I was a kid."
Hearing Son Goku's words, Launch remembered it too. She had intended to go help Son Goku back then, but by the time she arrived, he had already finished the fight. She had been disappointed for quite a while that she hadn't gotten a chance to throw down.
"So, this is from that organization? They really are hard to kill off. Even after being destroyed for over a decade, there are still stragglers left."
"An organization that Kakarot could wipe out when he was a kid? It seems they weren't much to begin with."
Upon learning the origin of the group, Vegeta became even more dismissive.
"Then why don't you try it out?"
Gamos looked at Vegeta with a mocking smile, then turned his gaze toward Ginyu.
"There is an android body here that is incredibly powerful. I'll give it to you!"
"Really? How strong is it?"
Ginyu looked at Gamos with anticipation. Hearing the other party talk about combat power in the billions—something he couldn't even dream of back when his own power was less than 100,000—felt like a beautiful fantasy.
"I don't know exactly, but it should be enough to beat Vegeta into the ground."
Gamos shot a provocative look at Vegeta, who flew into a rage and roared.
"Stop looking down on me! If you've got the guts, let's fight!"
"Fine by me!"
Gamos's hands flew across the keyboard. Android 13, 14, and 15 had long since been completed.
It was only because of the appearance of the Dark Ones that Dr. Gero had found new research materials and new goals, which was why he hadn't awakened them yet, choosing instead to continue his modifications.
The androids were now almost entirely upgraded, lacking only the core energy source.
The Energy Regeneration Furnace was complete and could restore energy just like recovering stamina, but it lacked an energy sample.
This was the reason the Android had not been activated yet; he was waiting. He was waiting for a powerful battle, after which he could collect a small energy sample to complete the final construction.
Gamos tapped his hands against the computer, and soon the floor in the center of the laboratory opened, revealing an energy furnace that rose up.
Approaching the furnace, Gamos clenched his fists and began to raise his energy.
"Ha!"
Green special effects surged in layers, and Gamos's hair stood straight up as he instantly transformed into a Super Saiyan.
As his energy continued to climb, he ascended directly into the second stage.
Extending one hand, he began to compress a terrifying amount of green energy. The intense power was eventually condensed into the size of a grain of rice, which he then dropped into the energy furnace.
As the energy entered the furnace, the machine slowly hummed to life, and the energy sample was injected through the pipes into Android 13's stasis pod.
Emerald green light points entered Android 13's chest, and a tyrannical energy spread throughout his body; the final upgrade was finally complete.
Gamos performed a series of command operations on the computer, and soon the door to Android 13's stasis pod slid open.
With a creak, Android 13's tall frame was finally revealed to everyone present.
"Is this the Android? He doesn't look like much."
Android 13 wore a baseball cap, looking like a tennis prince with his short white hair; he still looked quite cool.
"Ginyu, you may swap bodies now."
Gamos lifted the magic binding the opponent, and Ginyu immediately shouted "Change" in his impatience.
As a beam of light shot out, Ginyu, who had been using Launch's body, instantly abandoned his vessel and lunged toward Android 13.
Android 13's original, dormant soul was passively forced out and flew toward Launch's former body.
Just as the swap was nearing completion, Gamos's spirit jolted. His terrifying mental power instantly condensed into a blade, slicing 13's soul into pieces and causing it to vanish into thin air.
Seeing this, everyone gasped; such a technique that could directly sever a soul was truly terrifying.
Ginyu, now inside Android 13's body, witnessed this scene and couldn't help but tremble.
The fact that the opponent could directly attack the soul was simply inconceivable. It meant that if he ever got into a dispute with Gamos, even if he hid inside the body of one of Gamos's friends, the man could still finish him off.
However, after feeling the immense power within his new body, the fear that had just risen in his heart was quickly replaced by excitement.
"Is this my body? It's absolutely magnificent."
Ginyu looked at his hands in excitement. With this powerful, terrifying strength, he could crush even the Frieza of the past with a single finger.
He wondered if he would even be able to continue serving his former master when he returned.
After all, he was so strong now; if his "King" still had that same old combat power, it wouldn't be out of the question to make the other party serve him instead.
Just as Ginyu was lost in his daydreams, Vegeta crossed his arms and chuckled lightly.
"How is it? Are you feeling weak? Hurry up and come out here to fight me."
"Hahaha, Vegeta, you will pay the price for your arrogance."
Ginyu looked down at the short-statured Vegeta, his eyes filled with disdain.
Seeing that look, Vegeta felt deeply annoyed. He clenched his fists involuntarily; he couldn't wait to beat the man up.
"If you want to fight, go outside. Oh, and let me add 2,000 times gravity for you both."
Gamos waved his hand, and the two men, who had been brimming with fighting spirit, suddenly felt as if a thousand pounds of pressure had been placed upon them, making them struggle to even stand.
"A mere 2,000 times gravity is nothing to me."
The two flew outside, both intent on teaching the other a lesson.
Son Goku, worried about the two, followed them out; besides, he was very curious to see the Android's combat power.
Watching the three figures disappear, Launch couldn't help but remark.
"Saiyans really are warlike! But how are you so calm? Don't you feel your blood boiling?"
Having acquired a Saiyan body, Launch had developed a sense of addiction to fighting, yet Gamos, standing before her, remained completely unmoved, which she found very strange.
"I have more important things to do."
Gamos wasn't lying; he did indeed have matters to attend to.
According to the computer's calculations, Cell, who had fused with Kefla's body, was growing at an incredibly fast rate. With sufficient nutrients, he would be able to break out of his shell in less than a month.
By that time, with no God of Destruction present, no one could guarantee what Cell might do.
Gamos had no desire to face a rampaging Legendary Super Saiyan God form.
"Then what about this for me?"
Launch pointed to the soulless body in her arms.
This was her previous body; roughly calculating, it was over thirty years old. How should she handle it?
"Leave it to me. I will modify this body into the ultimate Android, and I can even make it stay eighteen forever."
Upon hearing "eighteen forever," Launch's eyes lit up. Although she didn't need this body anymore, it was her old one after all, and it was quite beautiful—staying eighteen forever sounded like a great deal.
