Background / History

Frieza ruled the universe through the Frieza Force and regarded the legend of a golden-haired Super Saiyan as a racial nightmare for Frost Demons. When his men detected the infant Gamos with a power level beyond 10,000, Frieza ordered the child brought aboard his ship rather than immediately killed, intending to keep such a danger under his own watch. 1 2

Gamos's defensive energy burned Frieza's hand and enabled the infant to escape. Concluding that no potential Super Saiyan could be allowed to mature, Frieza fired a full-power beam at him and believed he had eliminated the threat. He then proceeded with the extermination of the Saiyans, destroying Planet Vegeta with a massive energy sphere despite Bardock's attempt to stop him. 2

On Namek, Frieza battled Son Goku after Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation. He employed a barrage of energy blasts and concealed a Destructo Disc among them, nearly bisecting Goku. The fight left Frieza catastrophically injured; Cooler later found him missing an arm, leg, and tail and placed him in a regeneration tank. 6 11

Frieza later resumed his activities as a planetary real-estate magnate. After Moro disrupted worlds Frieza had sold, Frieza ambushed and executed him with a red laser when Moro refused to submit. 70

Appearance

Frieza is a short, smooth-skinned Frost Demon with purple crystal-like protrusions on his head, chest, shoulders, and calves. His face has purple-black lips and blood-tear-like markings beneath the eyes. 6
