Background / History

Shiri was born into the Uchiha Clan with distinctive white hair, making her the subject of gossip and ostracism among the predominantly black-haired clan. Though talented, she initially lacked an opportunity to prove herself until Uchiha Naoto recruited her into the clan’s Sharingan research group. Her original ambition had been to become a doctor, but her ninjutsu talent led to her being trained as a ninja instead. 1 11

As a researcher, Shiri performed experiments on deceased and living Uchiha subjects. She was responsible for implanting the ninjutsu in Wuming’s body, an act she later deeply regretted. 4 27

After meeting the newly lucid Uchiha Chigusa, Shiri proposed the “Friendship Plan” to Naoto: allow Chigusa and Wuming to bond, then use the loss of that bond to intensify Wuming’s Sharingan power. While presenting the plan as research, she hoped to buy the two children time and give them a chance to live. 2

Shiri accompanied Chigusa and Wuming on the Mount Hakkoda mission, where she temporarily suppressed their chakra seals and trained Chigusa in movement, stealth, and survival techniques. The mission collapsed into a battle with Senju Arashi’s group; Shiri fought to protect her team and ultimately retreated with Chigusa and Wuming after Keisuke’s death. 14 16 17

She was sent to the front lines against the Senju, survived in part because Senju Arashi secretly spared her, and gradually became an outcast within the Uchiha Clan.
