Background / History

Keisuke was regarded as a highly skilled ninja among the Uchiha Clan's younger generation, but his arrogance made him unsuitable for command. He looked down on weaker clansmen, preferred operating alone, and disregarded teammates' safety; consequently, he was assigned to oversee Wuming's movement between confinement and battlefields rather than lead a squad. 9

While ordered by Uchiha Naoto to retrieve Wuming from a battlefield, Keisuke instead slaughtered wounded Senju ninjas and attacked Wuming. He used Fire Style techniques and close combat against her, but Wuming deliberately accepted the risk of his blade to stab him in the abdomen. Naoto intervened, preventing Keisuke's finishing strike and leaving him severely injured. 5

The cause of his sudden murderous behavior was later identified as the effect of Qiancao's Mangekyo ability, Seven Generation God, which amplified Keisuke's existing desire for destruction. 24

After a month recovering from Wuming's injury, Keisuke apologized to Qiancao and Wuming, admitted fault to Naoto, and accepted a new mission without hesitation. His apparent change unsettled Shiri, who knew him as abrasive and prideful. 9 10

Mount Hakkoda Mission

Keisuke joined Shiri, Qiancao, and Wuming on the Uchiha mission to locate Hayasaka Sae's hideout, mark it for Imagawa's army, and assassinate Hayasaka. He adopted a civilian disguise, helped obtain intelligence in Xiaogu City, and acted as the group's effective field captain. 10 12 14

On the road, he taught Qiancao wilderness-survival skills and explained how to activate the Sharingan. He also used Sharingan genjutsu to incapacitate rogue soldiers encountered by the group. 11

During the battle at Mount Hakkoda, Keisuke initially fought Hayasaka Sae in taijutsu before activating his Sharingan. He overwhelmed Hayasaka, then entered the surrounding melee, using smoke, Fire Style, and his ocular perception to kill numerous rogue and Senju ninja. 16 17

When Shiri ordered a retreat, Keisuke refused to abandon the chance to capture Senju Arashi, the daughter of the Senju clan head. He charged Arashi alone, drawing her attention away from the retreating team, but Arashi killed him with a chakra-enhanced punch that crushed half his skull. 17

Possession by Black Zetsu

Despite his apparent death, Keisuke's body later reappeared and suddenly materialized behind Wuming, critically wounding her with a katana. Qiancao's Mangekyo Sharingan then overwhelmed the possessed Keisuke in combat. 18 19

The body was subsequently revealed to be controlled by Black Zetsu, which used White Zetsu-derived cells to keep it moving despite its extensive burns and injuries. Black Zetsu eventually abandoned Keisuke's ruined corpse, threw it into the surrounding fire, and escaped underground. 20

Personality

Before the Mount Hakkoda mission, Keisuke was openly contemptuous of weaker clansmen and inclined toward solitary, violent action. Even after his apparent repentance, he retained a ruthless outlook: he argued that ninjas must bear darkness and sin to secure a stable life for those they care about. 9 11

His altered behavior after recovering included politeness toward Qiancao and Wuming, concern for Qiancao's condition, and practical leadership during travel. However, Shiri remained distrustful, particularly after Keisuke exposed knowledge of her private past and later made reckless decisions in combat. 10 11 17

In battle, Keisuke was intensely aggressive and willing to expose himself for an advantage. His determination to seize Senju Arashi as a hostage overrode Shiri's order to withdraw, leading directly to his death. 17
