Background / History

Arashi led seven Senju ninja hired by Daimyo Takeda to assist Hayasaka Sae in securing stolen supplies near Mount Hakkoda. Although the Senju had recently clashed with Takeda’s forces, she maintained that a commissioned ninja should fulfill the job without allowing personal feelings to interfere. She detected Uchiha Keisuke’s presence near the rogue camp and immediately opened the engagement with Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique. 15

During the ensuing battle, Arashi commanded the Senju encirclement of the Uchiha group and countered Shiri’s Dragon Fire Technique with Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique. She later killed Keisuke after he massacred numerous Senju and rogue ninja, then pursued Shiri, Wuming, and Chigusa to a cliff. 16 17

At the cliff, Arashi fought Wuming and Shiri simultaneously. Wuming copied Arashi’s taijutsu and used stolen chakra to enhance her strikes, but Arashi’s physical strength, stamina, and chakra reserves allowed her to regain the advantage. Wuming ultimately subdued her temporarily with Tsukuyomi after ordinary Sharingan genjutsu failed against Senju countermeasures. 18

After Black Zetsu revealed itself through Keisuke’s body, Arashi exhausted her remaining chakra to collapse the burning cliff with Earth Style: Rock Lodging Collapse, allowing herself, Chigusa, Wuming, and Shiri to escape the flames by falling into the river below. Chigusa subsequently spared her, and their relationship shifted from enemies to allies. 20 21

Arashi openly rejected the idea that the Sharingan made its users evil and expressed hope that the Senju and Uchiha could eventually live peacefully. She protected Chigusa and Wuming, taught Chigusa practical ninja skills, and arranged for the group to seek the Uzumaki Clan’s help in removing the seals placed on the Uchiha pair. 21 26

After recovering at the Aburame research base, Arashi brought Chigusa and Wuming to Senju territory despite the political consequences. Her return was celebrated by her clansmen, while her introduction of two Uchiha as friends shocked the Senju main family. She explained Black Zetsu’s role in the Mount Hakkoda conflict to her parents and defended the two against clan hostility. 31 32

Arashi later accompanied Chigusa, Wuming, and her cousin Seiichiro toward the Land of Whirlpools to find Uzumaki Ayako. When Uchiha ninja intercepted them at sea, she faced Uchiha Ryuji and Uchiha Sawa alone, dispersing their combined Lightning Release with Wind Style: Great Breakthrough. 34 35

Three years later, Arashi relayed intelligence concerning Uchiha envoys traveling to the Land of Water, prompting Ayako to assign Chigusa an infiltration mission. 48 49

Arashi is a tall, slender woman with a notably well-proportioned build, milky-white skin, and a black ponytail. Her large almond-shaped eyes are described as bright and spirited, contributing to an outward impression of confidence, boldness, and competence. 15

Her decision to save Chigusa’s group from Black Zetsu and later protect them from her own subordinates reflects a strong personal code independent of clan prejudice. 15 20 30

She is playful and talkative even while captured, using teasing remarks and humor to test Chigusa’s character. Beneath that demeanor, she sincerely opposes the cycle of conflict between the Senju and Uchiha and believes that individual character—not the Sharingan—determines whether someone is good or evil. 21
