Background / History

Wu Zhangkong is a Shrek Academy graduate and disciple of the Red Dragon Douluo, Zhuo Shi. Despite his pedigree, he spent thirteen years in a depressed, stagnant state because he could not move on from Long Bing's death. 17

He became the instructor of Eastsea Academy's Year One, Class Five. When Qian Jue and Gu Yue sought admission to his class, Wu Zhangkong tested them alongside Tang Wulin and Xie Xie rather than accepting them outright. 8 9 He accepted the group after Qian Jue coordinated Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Gu Yue into forcing him to concede under restricted conditions. 9

As Class Five expanded, Wu Zhangkong defended his students against Ye Yingluo's attempt to take Qian Jue and Gu Yue for Class One. He later refereed Qian Jue's match against Ye Yingluo, which resulted in Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi transferring into Class Five. 15 16

Qiangu Dieyan recognized Wu Zhangkong's willingness to endure the Unyielding Staff Intent alongside his students, judging him more qualified as a teacher than Shrek's elders. Qiangu Dieyan later advised him to confront the obsession connected to Long Bing's death. 35 36

Despite his cold exterior, he is protective of Class Five. He objects when Ye Yingluo insults or tries to poach his students, believes in Qian Jue during the latter's duel with her, and personally joins his students in resisting Qiangu Dieyan's pressure test. 15 16 35
