History

More than 4,000 years before the current story, the Sun Moon Continent collided with the Douluo Continent. The Sun Moon Empire subsequently fought the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires, relying on its soul guidance technology but narrowly losing after Shrek Academy intervened. The conflict produced a long-standing balance among the continent’s major powers. 9

Qian Daoliu first arrives above the empire’s Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament in Ming Capital. His purge of evil soul masters disrupts the event and exposes the Holy Spirit Cult’s presence within the city. 1 3

During the tournament crisis, Emperor Xu Tianran follows Kong Deming’s advice to abandon the weakened Holy Spirit Cult rather than aid it. The empire seals the arena with coordinated defenses, though Long Xiaoyao tears an escape route through the shields while fleeing with Ye Xishui. 4 5

Xu Tianran subsequently opens contact with Qian Daoliu, Bo Saixi, and Tang Chen. He offers them the status of Honored Guests and the rank of Prince; Qian Daoliu declines permanent affiliation but remains temporarily to access the Royal Library. 6 7

The empire publicly establishes the Soul Hall as a continent-wide sanctuary for non-evil soul masters, funding it with monthly benefits and placing Qian Daoliu, Bo Saixi, and Kong Deming at its center. 15

After a year of continental upheaval, the empire enters a state of total mobilization. Its cities receive heavier patrols and defenses as it faces invasions, evil soul master activity, and raids by an elusive soul engineer legion. 27 28 44

The simultaneous Star Luo and Douling invasions escalate into a prolonged two-front war. On the Mingdou front, Qian Daoliu assumes command of the imperial forces, repels enemy Limit Douluo, and later suppresses a rebellion within the Dreadclaw and Evil Eye Soul Engineer Corps. Ju Zi’s participation in the rebellion exposes her treason against the empire. 51 52 53 54

On the Douling front, the Holy Spirit Cult employs Death God Towers and the Myriad Ghosts Devouring Souls Formation against the empire’s soul engineer legions. Qian Daoliu and Bo Saixi evacuate the threatened forces, while the later campaigns enable the empire to annex two nations and extend Soul Hall’s influence into their former territories. 58 59 64

Following Ye Guyi’s papal enthronement, Soul Hall is renamed Spirit Hall across the empire and its newly absorbed territories. The empire agrees to participate in the Spirit Pagoda, subject to conditions preserving Sun Moon jurisdiction and autonomy over its domestic branch. 64 66

The Star Luo Empire later launches a major invasion assisted by five god-level combatants, destroying the Mingdou Mountain Range and forcing the Sun Moon Empire into a three-month retreat toward Ming Capital. The capital withstands the siege, and the empire survives Dai Mubai’s subsequent god-level attack through the intervention of Qian Daoliu and the newly ascended Bo Saixi. 95 96 97 98

After the crisis, the Sun Moon Empire joins Spirit Hall and the Spirit Pagoda in a counteroffensive that overruns the Star Luo Empire and captures Star Luo City. Shrek Soul Engineer Legion Raids

A small but highly trained soul engineer legion launches repeated attacks on cities within the empire, evading reconnaissance through spatial power. Kong Deming’s forces eventually devastate the Shrek force and order a nationwide pursuit of Huo Yuhao’s surviving group. 44 46

Two-Front War

The Star Luo and Douling Empires attack the Sun Moon Empire simultaneously. Ju Zi holds the Star Luo front, while Kong Deming is sent to the Douling front, where the Holy Spirit Cult’s Death God Tower gives the enemy a major advantage. 50

The Douling front later becomes the site of the Myriad Ghosts Devouring Souls Formation, forcing Qian Daoliu and Bo Saixi to evacuate endangered imperial soul engineer forces before confronting Ye Xishui and eight Holy Spirit Cult Super Douluos. 58 59

Mingdou Front Rebellion

Qian Daoliu takes command at the Mingdou Mountain Range, drives back the Star Luo Empire’s Limit Douluo attackers, and exposes a conspiracy by Ju Zi, Liao Mengkai, and Wang Yiheng. The latter two commanders are killed, while Luan Feng’s Fire Phoenix Legion compels the rebel soul engineer corps to surrender. 51 52 53 54

Spirit Pagoda Founding Conference

The empire joins the Spirit Pagoda to obtain and regulate Soul Spirit transmission while preserving domestic autonomy.
