Kong Deming devoted his life to researching and innovating soul tools. He pioneered numerous soul-tool systems, laid much of the Sun Moon Empire’s soul-tool foundation, and raised the continent’s soul-tool civilization to a new height. More than half of the continent’s soul engineers are said to have studied under him. 8 14

As Xu Tianran’s adviser during the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Tournament, Kong Deming recommended decisively severing ties with the Holy Spirit Cult and sealing the arena with the Royal Soul Engineer Corps. 4 After Qian Daoliu and Bo Saixi’s battle against the cult, he formally received them on Xu Tianran’s behalf as the Silver Moon Douluo. 6

Kong Deming introduced Qian Daoliu to modern soul tools and soul cores, then gifted him a first soul-core manual and a soul-tool text he had compiled himself. Their shared interest in soul tools quickly developed into a close friendship, with Qian Daoliu calling him “Brother Kong.” 8 Qian Daoliu later leveraged Kong Deming’s wish to accept Ye Guyi as a disciple, securing his agreement to join the Spirit Hall’s Offering Hall. 14

Although he initially concealed it for self-protection, Kong Deming possesses the Sun Moon Empire imperial family’s inherited Sun martial soul in addition to his Silver Moon martial soul. His imperial lineage and twin martial souls were exposed after his battle with Tang Hao. 76 77

Kong Deming previously had a relationship with Zhang Siya in Heaven Dou City. He later learned that Silver Moon, the girl who possessed the same Silver Moon martial soul as him, was their long-lost daughter; he accepted her as family and resolved to protect her. 76
