Background / History

The Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear encountered by Lu Xiao's group was an eight-thousand-year soul beast in the Star Dou Great Forest's mixed zone. Despite its cultivation age, its soul power, physical strength, and foundation were stated to be no weaker than those of an ordinary ten-thousand-year soul beast. It was considered an exceptionally suitable match for Lu Xiao's Body Martial Soul because Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bears excel in both offense and defense. 24 25

The bear was a direct descendant of Bear Lord, the sixth-ranked of the Ten Great Fierce Beasts and patriarch of the species. Its pale-golden pupils identified it as Bear Lord's offspring; ordinary Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bears possess dark-golden pupils. 25

Before being found, it had hunted and was feeding on a ten-thousand-year Blazing Fierce Tiger. The fire-attribute energy from the tiger's flesh caused its dark-golden fur to glimmer faintly with gold. 25

Du Busi attacked the bear with a toxic domain and Hell Poison Dragon Drill, poisoning and severely corroding it. Though mortally wounded, it continued trying to rise and fight. Lu Xiao ultimately killed it from a distance with his First Spirit Skill, then absorbed its eight-thousand-year spirit ring as his second soul ring. 25 26

Du Busi found that the bear itself had not condensed a soul bone. He later used its complete skeleton, together with the Blazing Fierce Tiger's bones, in a body-forging medicinal bath for Lu Xiao. 27 29

Appearance

An enormous bear over five meters tall, built for direct combat and covered in dark-golden fur. Its arms were exceptionally thick and broad, ending in giant claws over one meter long. 25
