Summoning and Apprenticeship

Du Busi is brought from the future across world boundaries by Lu Xiao’s Level Achievement System. The system alters his memories and binds him as Lu Xiao’s exclusive guardian and mentor to prevent the boy’s premature death 1 2.

He arrives at Notting Academy after Lu Xiao awakens his Body Martial Soul. Furious at Yu Xiaogang’s claim that it is worthless, Du Busi suppresses him with his aura and sends him flying with an invisible force that breaks his bones. He then accepts Lu Xiao as his only closing disciple and claims the academy’s back mountain for foundation training 1 2.

Establishing Lu Xiao’s Foundation

Du Busi begins by opening and widening Lu Xiao’s meridians with his own Soul Core. The procedure exhausts more than half his Soul Power and substantial mental energy, but establishes the foundation for Lu Xiao’s Bronze awakening. Soon afterward, he captures Xiao Wu, recognizing her as a hundred-thousand-year Soft-Bone Rabbit in human form and initially viewing her as a future source of a soul ring and soul bone 3.

When Tang Hao attempts to seize Xiao Wu, Du Busi intercepts him and overwhelms him with his Body True Body and poison attacks. Tang Hao escapes through ring detonation, leaving behind a right-arm soul bone aged at least sixty thousand years. Du Busi gives the bone to Lu Xiao and places the injured Xiao Wu in the medicinal cauldron to recover 8 9 10.

He subsequently subdues the Wind-Thunder Demon Dragon while preserving its blood essence for Lu Xiao’s Golden Dragon awakening. After the absorption, he puts Lu Xiao and Xiao Wu through three days of near-continuous combat to improve their control, endurance, and practical technique 11 12 13 16.

Faction Negotiations and Continental Travel

Ning Fengzhi attempts to recruit Du Busi, but he declines on the grounds that he is already the Body Sect Master. When Spirit Hall later approaches him through Hu Liena, Du Busi uses the negotiations to seek support for the Body Sect’s revival. He eventually defeats Yue Guan and Gui Mei, breaking their Polar Static Domain and severely injuring both 17 30 33 34.

During Lu Xiao’s cultivation, Du Busi deliberately delays his advancement for two months so that his physical body can reach perfection first. He also prepares a bear-tiger medicinal bath that helps Lu Xiao perfect the Body Piercing stage. After Lu Xiao reaches the Bone Tempering Realm, Du Busi takes him and Xiao Wu traveling to find cultivation treasures and broaden his experience. He leaves Notting Academy a meridian-activating bath recipe as thanks for its hospitality 23 29 35.

In the Far North, Du Busi kills six fleeing Evil Soul Masters with precisely targeted poison blades. The subsequent appearance of the Snow Empress forces him into unusual caution and respectful negotiation; once Lu Xiao finishes absorbing his soul ring, Du Busi immediately retreats toward Extreme Ice City 38 39.

Heaven Dou Royal Academy

Du Busi agrees to train Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s tournament team in exchange for rare cultivation resources from the imperial family. His connection with the academy does not amount to political allegiance: Qian Renxue later confirms that neither he nor Lu Xiao will side with the Heaven Dou Empire 47 55 84.

While gathering materials for Lu Xiao, he insists on trading rather than robbing the Ye Family Medical Clinic. His poison aura immediately intimidates Dugu Bo, who recognizes that both Du Busi’s cultivation and poison exceed his own 48.

Du Busi also intervenes when Titan attempts to force Lu Xiao into the Strength Clan. After defeating Titan, he demands that the clan serve Lu Xiao or face destruction, explaining that its strength specialists can provide labor when the Body Sect is established 54.

Limit Douluo Breakthrough and Later Protection

At the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Lu Xiao refines the Nine-Turn Realm-Breaking Pill for Du Busi. The pill enables him to form a second Soul Core and reach rank 99. Although briefly disappointed by the core configuration, he quickly accepts Lu Xiao’s congratulations and prepares to hunt his disciple’s fourth soul ring 60 63 64.

His later hunts include restraining the sixty-thousand-year Crimson Gold Emperor Tiger and shielding Lu Xiao from its attempted self-destruction. He also interrogates and kills a Zhu Family pursuer who had attacked his disciple 66 68.

When Spirit Hall sends Golden Crocodile Douluo to test him, Du Busi dominates the fight through physical strength, defensive techniques, and repeated ninth-skill attacks. He leaves his opponent alive because a desperate counterattack could destroy Heaven Dou Royal Academy, then orders him to tell Spirit Hall to send someone stronger 77 78 79.

Du Busi later witnesses the Sky Azure Bull Python’s transformation into a Soul Spirit and tests Lu Xiao’s new defensive skill. When Bi Ji and Zi Ji arrive to investigate the python’s disappearance, his Limit Douluo pressure deters an immediate attack and supports Lu Xiao’s negotiations 98 99 100 144.

His rough treatment of Lu Xiao conceals considerable investment in the boy’s future. He spends enormous energy clearing Lu Xiao’s meridians, refuses to sacrifice long-term potential for faster advancement, and personally checks for hidden injuries after dangerous training. He can exercise practical restraint despite his aggression.
