Ning Fengzhi led the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect alongside its two Titled Douluo pillars, Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong. He initially judged it implausible that Ronan, then believed to be only a Soul Saint or quasi-Soul Douluo, could have killed the level-95 Yu Yuanzhen. 30

After Ronan grievously wounded Gu Rong, Ning personally found the Bone Douluo in the ruins and was devastated by his condition. He sought the reclusive Nine-Heart Begonia healer Ye Ci at Moonlight Pavilion, offering any price for treatment, but Ye Ci refused because using her Martial Soul risked her own life. 63 66

Ning exhausted the sect's connections and resources to preserve Gu Rong's life, accepting Prince Xue Xing's discounted medicinal supplies despite the enormous cost. He considered Gu Rong indispensable: without a second Titled Douluo, the sect's headquarters and Ning himself would lose crucial protection. 70 71

When a treasure appeared in the Star Dou Forest, Ning personally traveled with Chen Xin in the hope of finding a cure.
