Background / History

The Star Luo Empire's political core is controlled by the Dai imperial clan and the Zhu family. Their inherited martial souls, respectively the Evil Eye White Tiger and Nether Civet, have been joined through arranged marriages for generations; the inheritors of both martial souls are expected to become partners and jointly maintain the empire's central power 2 18.

Its imperial succession follows an exceptionally harsh, strength-based system. The empire recognizes only one heir; defeated contenders are “erased,” with possible outcomes including death, crippled Soul Power, or lifelong imprisonment. Fear of this fratricidal struggle drove Third Prince Dai Mubai to flee Star Luo 2 106 111.

Dai Weisi's Defeat

A new Shrek Academy branch opened in Star Luo City's prosperous district beside Star Luo Royal Advanced Academy. Viewing the city as a place that should have only one academy, Dai Weisi attempted to enter and confront the institution 106.

Dai Yueyan, a five-ring Soul King with three purple and two black soul rings, defeated the four-ring Dai Weisi in one move. He carried the unconscious prince into Shrek Academy and demanded that Dai Weisi's parents retrieve him 107.

The incident became a public humiliation for the imperial family. Though the authorities contained the news within Star Luo City, the prince's defeat by a younger-looking opponent in the street damaged the empire's prestige 108.

Imperial Negotiation

The emperor personally led guards and ministers to Shrek Academy. After entering, he faced Dai Yueyan, who demanded 100 million Gold Soul Coins and five soul bones over one thousand years old for Dai Weisi's release 109 110.

Rather than immediately accept the ransom, the emperor offered to adopt Dai Yueyan and give him the Star Luo throne. Dai Yueyan refused, declaring he had no interest in acknowledging another father 110 111.

Dai Tianling then appeared to protect his son, revealing Titled Douluo-level pressure. Faced with Shrek Academy's strength, the emperor admitted he had acted rashly, agreed to provide the requested resources, and offered Dai Tianling a hereditary king position. The Star Luo Emperor attended Shrek Academy's freshman tournament in Suotuo City alongside members of the imperial family and trusted aides. His presence alongside Emperor Xue Ye, Qian Daoliu, and leading figures from major factions reflected Shrek Academy's continent-wide influence 206.

Dai Weisi was permitted to attend after claiming that he wished to understand Shrek Academy's strength and learn humility. During the tournament, however, he attempted to use a prospective marriage to Zhu Zhuqing to establish a bridge between the empire and Shrek Academy 213.

The emperor and Duke of Nether approached Zhu Zhuqing directly, offering to make her empress no matter whether Dai Weisi or Dai Mubai eventually took the throne.
