Chen Xinjie is first mentioned when Lin Feng's system awards him as a Special Student following Tang Hao's intrusion into Shrek Academy, defeat, and imprisonment. In his later appearances, Chen Xinjie serves the academy as a teacher. 14 79 80

Chen Xinjie serves as the teacher of Ye Xinglan and Yuanen Yehui. When the Titan Giant Ape Er Ming threatens them and Meng Shu's group, Chen Xinjie intervenes for his students' sake, incapacitating Er Ming with a single water-current attack. He has the soul beast taken back to Shrek Academy and confined rather than killed. 79 80

After Lin Feng assigns him to establish a Shrek Academy branch on Sea God Island, Chen Xinjie travels there alone. He memorizes the sea routes beforehand and eliminates aggressive sea soul beasts encountered during the journey. 80 129

Sea God Island's Seven Sacred Pillars initially oppose the academy's construction. Chen Xinjie defeats Sea Star Douluo in one move, then resumes negotiations. Bo Saixi ultimately permits the branch to be built, and Chen Xinjie uses robots to complete the academy's construction in under half an hour. 130 131

During negotiations, he promises not to interfere with Sea God Island's faith or internal affairs and pledges the academy's assistance if the island faces destruction. He also denies having come to seek the Sea God's godhood. 131

Chen Xinjie receives an extraordinary Sea God assessment marked by seven blood-red pillars of light. Although the Sea God offers him a path toward divine inheritance, he refuses to pursue it, declaring that he intends to create his own godhood rather than inherit another's. He ends the matter after resisting the divine sense within the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud. Following the divine-sense confrontation, Guan Yue, Ao Rui, and Long Tianwu arrive to assist at the Sea God Island branch. Chen Xinjie begins personally teaching the branch's twenty-one students the Heavenheart Perception Method, with particular attention to Jixiang's aptitude for medicine and Martial Soul perception. 194

Later, Poseidon observes that Chen Xinjie's energy continues increasing even though his Soul Power Level remains at ninety-nine. Despite his overwhelming power, Chen Xinjie does not seek needless conflict. After defeating Sea Star Douluo, he withdraws his aura and asks to negotiate again rather than continue fighting. 130
