In the original story, it was perhaps because the Sea God possessed a trace of the Angel God's power that he was able to intervene when Qian Renxue participated in the Ninth Trial, causing Tang San's figure to appear in Qian Renxue's illusion, thus preventing her from completing the Angel Ninth Trial incompletely.
Unlike the original story, the Sea God has Godhood Inheritance to Bibi Dong, so he naturally has to consider the Spirit Hall's interests.
This represents a shift in stance.
