Background / History

The Soul Guidance Department is one of Shrek Academy's two major cultivation divisions, alongside the Martial Soul Department. Its leaders view soul tools as a field capable of changing soul master combat and advancing beyond the Sun Moon Empire's technology. This position brings it into frequent conflict with the Martial Soul Department, whose dean Yan Shaozhe dismisses soul tools as inferior external forces. 8 10

Vice Dean Qian Duoduo sought to recruit Zhuang Minghui after recognizing that his Spirit Gold martial soul could decompose and reconstruct metals and soul tools. He believed the department could use this ability to analyze and reproduce high-grade soul tools and blueprints. 7 8

At a Sea God Pavilion meeting, the department argued for Zhuang Minghui's inclusion in its program. Qian Duoduo cited Spirit Gold's potential to study Sun Moon Empire technology and develop superior tools; Zhuang ultimately chose dual cultivation in both the Martial Soul and Soul Guidance Departments. 10

Following the public recruitment dispute, Dean Xian Lin'er granted Zhuang absolute authority within the department as compensation. This elevated him to the highest status below Xian herself and gave him unrestricted access to departmental resources, research rooms, and installations. 11

Soul Tool Engineering

The department researches offensive, defensive, and amplification soul tools. Soul tools have changed conventional soul master battles and reduced the need for traditional auxiliary soul masters in some combat roles. 9

• Qian Duoduo and Fan Yu researched a soul tool for the Ultimate Soldier Project, though their work had reached a bottleneck. 22

Signal Axe

Using materials from Qian Duoduo's forging room, Zhuang Minghui used the Life Scepter to purify and reconstruct rare metals at a molecular level, creating the Class 4 melee soul device Signal Axe within seconds. 25
