Background / History
Zhou Yi had previously been jointly reported by senior students for misconduct. Shrek Academy demoted her to teaching freshmen with the expectation that she would change her methods, but she remained committed to ruling students through pressure and intimidation. She believed harsh oppression was necessary to maintain the academy’s highest advancement rate. 20
She taught Freshman Class 1, whose students had comparatively weak cultivation. During a punishing running exercise, she forced Wang Dong'er and Xiao Xiao to continue despite their physical condition, threatening expulsion when they stopped to rest. 19 20
Her confrontation with Mu Jin escalated when the class collectively refused to continue the exercise. Zhou Yi attacked Mu Jin with Red Dragon flames, endangering the students when the resulting firestorm scattered toward them. 20
Gu Yue defeated Zhou Yi by extinguishing and suppressing her fire element, disrupting her soul power, and exposing the face concealed beneath her human-skin mask. Zhuang Minghui then brought the severely injured Zhou Yi to the Soul Guidance Department to demand accountability. 21 22
After Wang Dong'er recounted Zhou Yi’s actions, Qian Duoduo stripped Zhou Yi of her teaching position and academy privileges, expelled her permanently from Shrek Academy and Shrek City, and accepted the crippling of her cultivation as restitution. At Wang Dong'er's request, she was to be sent to the homes of students she had previously expelled without cause. 23
Appearance
Zhou Yi normally concealed her appearance beneath a human-skin mask, presenting herself as a stern, elderly woman. When Gu Yue’s wind blade tore away the disguise, she was revealed to have the fair, delicate face of a mature and conventionally beautiful woman. 21
- Her Red Dragon martial soul manifests dark-red dragon scales and intense crimson flames. 20
- She wore the human-skin mask for years, apparently to hide her true identity and appearance. 21
Personality
Zhou Yi is stern, authoritarian, and deeply invested in obedience. She treats extreme pressure as legitimate instruction and sees students unable or unwilling to endure her methods as unworthy of remaining in her class. 19 20
She is unwilling to acknowledge fault. Even after being demoted for prior misconduct, she maintained that she had not pressured students enough and intended to use her Soul Emperor cultivation to force freshmen into submission. 20
Her personal rivalry with Mu Jin fuels her hostility. When Class 1 resisted her authority and Mu Jin intervened, Zhou Yi lashed out violently enough to place uninvolved students in danger. 19 20
