Background / History

Ning Fengzhi is the Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, one of the Upper Three Sects, and serves as Crown Prince Xue Qinghe's teacher. His position gives him considerable standing in Heaven Dou affairs, including matters surrounding Heaven Dou Royal Academy. 24 27

He is accompanied and protected within the sect by its two guardian Douluo, Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong. Both are highly protective of his daughter Ning Rongrong, whose indulgent upbringing Ning Fengzhi believes has become a problem. 41 45

Personality

Ning Fengzhi is measured and diplomatic in public dealings. When Xia Yuan requests a year away from the academy, Ning Fengzhi treats the matter as a misunderstanding and extends an invitation to visit the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 27

He is concerned that Ning Rongrong has been spoiled by the sect's environment. Seeking to temper her personality, he enrolls her at Heaven Dou Royal Academy and explicitly asks the education committee not to grant her special treatment. 37 40

His judgment is strongly influenced by his faith in Flender, whom he knows from the past. This leads him to initially trust Qin Ming as Flender's student and arrange for Ning Rongrong to study under Qin Ming, despite later evidence that Xia Yuan's training is more effective for her. 37 40 41 46

He visits Heaven Dou Royal Academy to observe Xia Yuan and Qin Ming's conflict over teaching methods. Ning Fengzhi and Zhi Lin agree to a one-year trial of separate instruction for the Imperial Fighting Team. 37

Ning Rongrong's Enrollment
