Qin Ming came from Shrek Academy, where he was regarded as a “monster.” His mentor was acquainted with Yu Xiaogang, whom Qin Ming recognizes as the Master of Theory. 34 43

Because of his exceptional cultivation talent and perceived potential to become a Title Douluo, Heaven Dou Royal Academy's Education Committee entrusted him with organizing and training the next Imperial Fighting Team for the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament. 33

The committee expected him to break Spirit Hall's publicly recorded youngest Soul Emperor record, although those records did not comprehensively cover disciples of major sects. His appointment was an exception to the academy's usual practice of selecting the Imperial Fighting Team's instructor from its Heaven-Dou Tier teachers. 33

Training Dispute with Xia Yuan

Qin Ming begins the team's training with running, arguing that battlefield survival depends on stamina and the ability to flee. 35 36

Xia Yuan challenges this approach, particularly its application to support-type soul masters such as Ye Lingling. Their debate results in Qin Ming losing his temper and demanding to know whether Xia Yuan believes he can outrun him. 36

One-Year Training Trial

Over the following year, Qin Ming trains Yu Tianheng, Aosiluo, and Shi Mo through an intense physical-training regimen. Yu Tianheng remains convinced of Qin Ming's superiority, while Aosiluo and Shi Mo become exhausted and resentful of the harsh training. 47

At the end of the year, Qin Ming proposes that both groups travel through multiple Great Soul Arenas under concealed identities, with the final assessment taking place in Suotuo City. 47

During the evaluation, Qin Ming struggles to explain Xia Yuan's ability to defeat opponents without soul-ring skills. He avoids acknowledging Xia Yuan's outstanding performance, irritating Meng Shenji. 49 50

Departure from Heaven Dou Royal Academy

Following the Great Soul Arena evaluation, the Education Committee visits Shrek Academy at Qin Ming's prompting. Qin Ming's claims regarding Shrek Academy's reputation and its alleged exceptional graduates are challenged, and the committee's opinion of both him and the academy deteriorates. 52 54

During the visit, Qin Ming proudly explains Shrek's admission requirements: applicants must be under thirteen, possess at least two soul rings, and have Soul Power above rank twenty-one. The group observes its nonrefundable ten-Gold-Soul-Coin application fee and Li Yusong's intimidation of dissatisfied applicants. Qin Ming struggles to defend these practices when they are questioned. 53

When the group discovers apparent recruitment for Shrek under Spirit Hall's name, Qin Ming attempts to defend the academy with further questionable claims, including that it produced Spirit Hall's youngest elder. Ning Rongrong identifies her father as the likely person meant, exposing the weakness of Qin Ming's claim. Confronted by Meng Shenji, Zhi Lin, and the others, Qin Ming withdraws from Heaven Dou Royal Academy. 54

Yu Tianheng chooses to follow Qin Ming despite the consequences. Li Yusong receives them at Shrek Academy, where Qin Ming is welcomed back as a former student. 54

After their departure, Meng Shenji grants Xia Yuan Heaven-Dou Tier teacher authority and entrusts the Imperial Fighting Team's future to him. Aosiluo later replaces Yu Tianheng, and Shi Mo joins the others in training under Xia Yuan. 55 63

Return to Shrek and the Soul Master Tournament

Qin Ming and Yu Tianheng appear with Shrek Academy's group at an inn near the Star Dou Great Forest, confirming their continued association with the academy. Xia Yuan and Qian Renxue recognize them while observing the group. 70

During the tournament finals, Qin Ming, Yu Tianheng, and Tang San react with fury and disbelief when Xia Yuan reveals Soul Emperor cultivation and a Hundred-Thousand-Year soul ring. Qin Ming agrees with Yu Tianheng's suggestion that Xia Yuan must be using an illusion or disguise rather than accepting his advancement. 110

Following Heaven Dou Royal Academy's championship victory, Zhi Lin reflects that losing Qin Ming and Yu Tianheng had ultimately been beneficial. He regards their mutual reinforcement of Yu Tianheng's devotion to Qin Ming and Qin Ming's devotion to Shrek as a potential threat to the academy's direction. 124

Imprisonment and Death in Slaughter City

When Xia Yuan enters Slaughter City with Hu Liena, Qin Ming is already there as a prisoner of Spirit Hall. Xia Yuan registers for the Hell Slaughter Arena, whose matches pit ten combatants against one another with only one permitted survivor, and encounters Qin Ming among his first opponents. Zhao Wuji, Li Yusong, and other Shrek-associated spectators watch the confrontation. 133

Qin Ming recognizes Xia Yuan, blames him for his circumstances, and declares that he had planned to kill him after escaping. He attacks using Blazing Wolf martial-soul possession, expecting the prohibition on soul skills to diminish Xia Yuan's advantage. Both men are Soul Emperors, but Xia Yuan's physical strength and weapon skills overwhelmingly surpass his. 133

Xia Yuan sends Qin Ming flying with a single sweep of the Black Jade Blue Silver Spear. Qin Ming spits blood and cannot understand how Xia Yuan remains so powerful without soul skills. Xia Yuan follows with the Blue Silver Emperor and kills Qin Ming along with the other arena participants. The spectators' shock at this victory prompts the surviving Shrek teachers to avoid Xia Yuan. 133
