Background / History

Champa was sleeping on Universe 6's Destroyer God World when Vados discovered that Roger had taken the Super Dragon Ball kept near their world. Champa initially dismissed the report while groggy, then angrily pursued Roger after learning that the Dragon Ball had been taken. 77

He confronted Roger over the Super Dragon Balls, treating them as property of his territory. Roger challenged this claim by naming Dragon God Zalama as their creator, prompting Champa to attack him. 78 Roger's Super Saiyan Five strength proved comparable to, and briefly stronger than, Champa's own. Their battle devastated uninhabited planets with its shockwaves before Vados intervened. 78 79

Although he continued to demand an explanation to preserve his dignity, Champa accepted Roger's apology and agreement to return two Super Dragon Balls after one year. 79 80 Roger subsequently introduced him to food from Universe 7's Earth, beginning Champa's intense interest in Earth cuisine. 80

After Vados discovered that Universe 6's Earth had become uninhabitable because humanity destroyed all life through warfare, Champa planned to use the Super Dragon Balls to restore it. 81 A year later, after Roger returned two Super Dragon Balls and lent him the Super Dragon Radar, Champa gathered all seven and used Super Shenron to restore Universe 6's Earth. 85

Champa permitted Roger to train on his world under Vados and later offered him the position of Universe 6's God of Destruction. When Roger declined due to his status as a Universe 7 Supreme Kai candidate, Champa instead suggested that he become Universe 6's Supreme Kai, partly to secure his own linked life. 83 86
