Background / History

Tang San had foreseen the emergence of a Son of Destiny on Douluo Star and spent ten thousand years preparing to control that person. He sent his daughter Tang Wutong to the lower realm so that she could approach the destined individual, place Tang San’s mark upon them, and help him turn Douluo Star into the Tang family’s “private garden.” 130

When the original Son of Destiny’s fortune collapsed and the Sun and Moon Empire’s fortune rose, Tang San concluded that someone had disrupted predetermined fate. He resolved that this unknown figure must either be brought under his control or eliminated before attaining godhood. 130

Tang San identified Wang Chen as the likely new Son of Destiny after linking him to Yan Shaozhe’s death, Xuan Zi’s severe injury, and the changes in continental fortune. Upon seeing Wang Chen plunder the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Tang San judged his talent to surpass even his own youth and ordered Sea God Island’s High Priest, Song Jie, to kill him. 134

Song Jie’s failure and death brought Wang Chen to the attention of the Destruction God King, who demanded that Tang San surrender one of his God Positions to the youth. Tang San publicly agreed to assess Wang Chen, but privately regarded the demand as an attack on his authority and devised the Sea God inheritance as a lethal trap. 143 145

Tang San descended a Divine Power Phantom to offer Wang Chen the Sea God Trial, presenting the Sea God Position as a reward while intending to arrange fatal trials for him. Wang Chen recognized the danger, delayed his acceptance, and later maintained only a nominal connection to the inheritance while pursuing his own path to godhood. 167 168 169

When Wang Chen attacked Shrek Academy and endangered Tang Wutong, Tang San intervened through the Sea God Trident. He could block Wang Chen’s Space-Time Annihilation, but could not stop the destruction of Shrek Academy or compel Wang Chen to accept the Sea God Position. 200 201

Twenty years later, Wang Chen created a Colored God Position founded on six rules and killed Tang San’s parents, Tang Hao and Ah Yin. Enraged, Tang San left the God Realm to confront Wang Chen directly. He was overwhelmed by the Six Rules and killed by Wang Chen’s multicolored spear. 205 206

Tang San maintains a refined, gentle, and easygoing public image before Divine Officials and lower-ranked Gods. In private, he is calculating, possessive, and deeply concerned with preserving his control of the God Realm and Douluo Star. 143

He treats exceptional mortals primarily as assets or threats: those who could strengthen his control are to be manipulated, while those beyond his control are to be erased. His plan for Wang Chen shifted from using Tang Wutong to place him under Tang San’s command to arranging his death through native forces and a disguised godhood trial. 130 134 145

Tang San is politically cautious when confronting the Destruction God King, suppressing his anger rather than openly escalating their rivalry. However, the deaths of Tang Hao and Ah Yin override that restraint; he abandons his usual composure and attacks Wang Chen impulsively. 144 205 206
