Wang Chen was born into the Marquis Ying Residence's Wang Family and was publicly known as a close associate of Meng Hongchen of the Red Dust Family 1. Having lived two lives, he retained knowledge of future events and possessed unusually strong spiritual power and memory from an early age 4 8.

When he learned that Wang Yan had committed the Wang Family to supporting Second Prince Xu Tianyu, Wang Chen recognized that the family would be endangered by Xu Tianran's eventual retaliation. He abandoned his earlier intention to remain a spectator in imperial politics and resolved to accumulate enough strength to protect the family and control his own fate 8.

His victory in the Wang Family Competition elevated his standing within the clan. After defeating the Soul Elder Wang Teng and the other young disciples, he received major resources, a personal guard squad, and the Young Master Token 22 23 25. He later chose to pursue the patriarch's seat, both to secure the Wang Family and to accelerate the Black Book's recovery through increased status 25 59.
