Andrew was a test subject held at the Ninth Laboratory. His escape enraged Baroque, prompting a crisis at the facility while the Defenders' group infiltrated it. 27

After escaping Shadaloo, Andrew was found hospitalized with incomplete memories and severe anxiety. During questioning by Phil Coulson and Clint Barton, he identified the red crystal embedded in his forehead as the Killing Stone Fragment, which researchers had claimed could grant wishes. Andrew believed his own wish had been granted through it, though he could not fully explain the circumstances. 37 38

Hydra agents posing as hospital staff attempted to seize him. Andrew fought back with telekinesis, releasing a large uncontrolled wave of force before fleeing the hospital through a window.
