Background

Thunder Hell Vine awakened as Meng Chen's first martial soul during his awakening ceremony in Xiahe Village. It was identified publicly as a mutated lightning vine martial soul, though Meng Chen recognized it as an existence containing the Thunder God's bloodline and ultimate lightning attribute. Its awakening drew the attention of the God of Destruction because of its destructive power. 1

It is regarded as an exceptionally dangerous lightning-attributed plant martial soul. Records of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect describe a ten-thousand-year Thunder Hell Vine annihilating a hunting party composed of Soul Douluos and Soul Sages more than six centuries earlier. The sect later designated it as a taboo and the natural nemesis of lightning-attributed martial souls and soul beasts. 34
