Background

Ye Cixin is the mother of Ye Lingling and a member of the Ye Family, whose generations of medical study produced extensive records on medicinal herbs. As an imperial marquis and the Heaven Dou royal family’s chief physician, she resides at the Ye Residence in Heaven Dou City. She states that the women of her family do not marry out, and she relies on the family’s longstanding healing ties—including favors owed by Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo—to deter pressure from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 22

Six years before Meng Chen enrolled at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, Ye Cixin encountered him alone and lost on the road while he was seeking the Star Dou Great Forest. Believing him to be parentless and endangered, she tried to bring him along and adopt him after learning that he possessed innate full soul power. Her attempt ended when Ye Xishui’s hidden pressure frightened her into backing away.
