Background / History

Before transmigrating, Noven was an orphan who sacrificed himself to save a child from a truck. He survived but suffered severe brain damage, paralysis, and an infection that left him nearly vegetative. When an unknown voice offered him a second life in another world, he chose to depart. 1

He awakened in the Divine Kingdom as a god and soon found his first targeted believers: black-robed cultists calling him the Father of Omniscience and Lord of Enlightenment. Attempting to grant their leader divine power caused the man to mutate into a massive aberration, revealing that Noven's power carried the corrupting chaos characteristic of an evil god. 1 2

Rather than embrace that role, Noven tested a safer approach through Pete Chinar. He found that imparting knowledge allowed believers to learn and cast spells without exposing them to his divine power. To attract followers without provoking the orthodox churches, he invented the identity of Noven, the God of Knowledge, an ancient Outer God newly awakened from slumber. 3 5 7 8

Noven later built the Knowledge Point system to reward prayer, labor, training, and proselytizing while encouraging believers to solve problems through learned skills. As Pete and Rena spread the faith, the sect grew from a handful of believers to more than one hundred in Greenport Lower City. 19 23 33 38

When the Bloodfang Gang's connection to an evil god became known, Noven turned the campaign against it into a sect event. Defeating gang members revealed a new source of power: chaotic energy that could be refined into stable divine power for blessings. 40 48

Personality

Noven is rational, adaptive, and strongly opposed to the destructive nature of evil gods. Though his divine power marks him as one, he refuses to join beings he considers insane agents of chaos and instead seeks legitimacy within civilized society. 38

He approaches divine rule like a problem-solving system. He tests his powers, studies feedback from believers, and turns discoveries into practical mechanisms such as task prompts, visible progress bars, reward systems, and sect events. 5 19 23 26 48

Noven is also pragmatic in spreading his faith. He deliberately created the God of Knowledge persona to make his dangerous origin more acceptable, while using tangible rewards and clear responses to prayers to distinguish his sect from established religions. 5 8 19 20

Abilities & Skills

Eye of God

Noven observes the mortal world through those who offer him faith.

  • A god's true form cannot easily leave the Divine Kingdom; believers serve as his connection to the mortal realm. 1
  • Each follower provides an additional perspective and source of information. 1 38
  • The ability does not allow him to read a believer's private thoughts. 28
  • After expanding his following, he supplements the Eye of God with a created light-screen map that tracks followers across Greenport Lower City. 38

Authority of Knowledge and Enlightenment

Noven can obtain and completely master knowledge relevant to a believer's prayer.

  • A request for [Hada's Hunger] gave him complete knowledge of the spell, including its origin, variants, optimizations, and advanced forms. 2
  • His authority can provide solutions as spells, tasks, methods, or progress information. 7 9
  • The authority does not explain why a given solution works, only provides an effective answer. 9
  • Its results may be incomplete when his available divine power is insufficient. 11

Divine Revelations and Knowledge Transmission

Noven provides followers with instructions and learned knowledge through divine revelations.

  • He uses task prompts and notification sounds to structure instructions for believers. 5
  • Believers who receive his knowledge must still learn and perform spells themselves; Noven's divine power does not perform the casting for them. 3 5
  • Knowledge he grants is bound to authorized believers and cannot simply be taught to others. 23
  • His teachings allow followers to pursue professional paths without being restricted to a single patron god's faith. 28 34

Knowledge Points

Noven created Knowledge Points as the Knowledge Sect's internal exchange system.

  • Believers earn points through actions that generate faith, including prayer, meditation, labor, training, and preaching. 19 23 26 36
  • Points can be exchanged for spell knowledge, combat techniques, divine arts, information, and cultivation guidance. 19 26 37
  • Noven designed the standard exchange rate as one Knowledge Point for knowledge requiring one unit of divine power to obtain. 26
  • Once he has acquired information, he can distribute it repeatedly without paying the original acquisition cost again. 26 33

Divine Power

Noven receives divine power through faith and certain believer activities.

  • His original divine power is heavily tainted with chaos; directly bestowing it on mortals causes corruption and mutation. 2 28 38
  • Teaching knowledge is far less costly than granting power directly. 5
  • True believers provide far greater surges of faith than casual believers, as shown when Pete became a true believer. 28
  • With more than one hundred followers, daily prayers alone provide him more than one hundred points of divine power. 38

Pure Divine Spheres

Noven can refine plundered evil-god energy into stable divine power.

  • When followers defeat enemies influenced by an evil god, Noven can seize energy from them as divine-power spoils. 48
  • His chaotic divine power rejects the stable portion of this energy, allowing Noven to collect it separately. 48
  • He can condense the purified energy into transparent divine spheres capable of directly blessing and strengthening mortals. 48

Relationships

  • Pete Chinar — Noven's first stable believer and principal early agent in spreading the God of Knowledge faith. Noven guides Pete through spells, investigations, recruitment, and the Bloodfang Gang event. 3 8 19 33 40
  • Rena — One of Noven's earliest believers; he provides cultivation guidance and visible progress information for her shadow-based training. 20 24 26
  • Brandon — A recruited follower and Noven's first warrior-in-training. Brandon later spreads the faith among his workshop coworkers. 33 34 36 37
  • Bloodfang Gang — A criminal organization targeted by Noven's limited-time sect event. Their evil-god influence becomes a source of plundered and purified divine power. 40 48
  • Unknown entity — The disembodied voice that offered Noven transmigration and a second life. 1

Story Role / Major Arcs
