Background

Naruto lost his parents on the night of his birth, when Minato Namikaze sealed the Nine-Tails within him to save Konoha. Treated as a monster and driven from the orphanage at four, he spent months alone before the Third Hokage gave him a home. 1 107

At five, Naruto met Minato's remaining consciousness in his mindscape. Minato revealed that he was Naruto's father, that the Nine-Tails had been manipulated during its attack on Konoha, and that Madara Uchiha was Naruto's grandfather. He also entrusted Naruto with the Namikaze estate and warned him not to become arrogant or dependent on the Sharingan. 1

Naruto later learned that Kushina was born Kushina Senju, making him the Senju heir and Tsunade's grandson. His combined Uchiha and Senju bloodlines eventually allowed him to awaken the Rinnegan. 18 83
