Rank 26 Soul Grandmaster 27 Introduces herself during Shrek's fourth-round assessment; supports Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing against Zhao Wuji.

Background

Ning Rongrong is the daughter of Ning Fengzhi, Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Her birth and innate rank-nine soul power made her a celebrated prodigy within the sect, but she privately wished for an attack-type martial soul rather than a support-type pagoda. She kept that desire hidden because the sect expected her to preserve and advance its inherited martial soul. 3 4 13

She travels alone to Soto City to enroll at Shrek Academy. Before reaching the academy, she encounters the fortune-teller Yang Xing and initially tries to expose him as a fraud. His knowledge of her identity, family, hidden ambition, and purpose leaves her suspicious rather than convinced. 1 2 3

Yang Xing claims that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda can evolve into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. Provoked by his challenge, Rongrong signs a master-apprentice contract, then immediately attempts to have it revoked. 4 5 6

Her resistance weakens after Yang Xing displays and offers to teach several extraordinary abilities. She ultimately accepts him as her master after witnessing the potential of his teachings, particularly their ability to give her offensive and defensive options beyond her pagoda's support role. 12 15 16

Yang Xing identifies the immortal herb Qiluo Tulip as the means to improve her aptitude and evolve her martial soul into the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. 17

Appearance

Ning Rongrong is a twelve-year-old girl with short, ear-length hair, almond-shaped eyes, and a delicate appearance. She often wears a white dress and carries herself with the poise of a refined young lady. 3 17

  • Maintains a carefully practiced “gentle and gracious” refined-lady persona in public. 2
  • Her expressions readily betray her temper: narrowed eyes, a raised chin, and an icy frown commonly precede an argument. 2 4
  • Her white dress is a point of personal pride; she is highly particular about cleanliness and appearance. 10 14 52

Personality

Rongrong is proud, sharp-tongued, and accustomed to the influence of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Being ignored provokes her more than open disagreement, and she responds to threats or condescension with defiance rather than submission. Her reputation as the “Little Devil” stems from this fierce, vindictive side. 3 6 36

She is also impulsive. Her decision to sign Yang Xing's contract is made in anger after he challenges whether she dares to gamble, and she regrets it almost immediately. Her attempts to reverse the agreement range from threats to feigned tears. 5 6 7

Despite her arrogance, Rongrong is observant and pragmatic. She recognizes the value of Yang Xing's teachings, chooses Wind Empress Qimen based on its compatibility with her foundation, and actively experiments with its applications. 13 18 26 30

Her confidence does not prevent her from caring for others. She uses food to build friendships with Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing, supports Tang San during the Shrek entrance assessment, and promises to protect Xiao Wu from Yang Xing if necessary. 28 31 54

Abilities & Skills

Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda

Rongrong's inherited support-type martial soul provides powerful team enhancements.

  • First Soul Skill — Strength: Increases the strength of designated allies. 27
  • Second Soul Skill — Speed: Increases the speed of designated allies. 27
  • During Shrek's fourth-round test, her first two soul skills enhance Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing by approximately 30% while she maintains the effects in battle. 27 28
  • The martial soul's support role traditionally leaves her vulnerable to direct attack, a limitation she compensates for with Wind Empress Qimen. 13 27

Wind Empress Qimen

An inheritance-type skill taught directly to Rongrong by Yang Xing. It establishes a controllable area around her, allowing her to alter material changes, elemental forces, spatial positions, terrain, and air resistance. 18 19 29

  • Spatial displacement: Evades attacks by vanishing and reappearing at another location; she uses it repeatedly against Zhao Wuji and Li Yusong. 28 36
  • Elemental manipulation: Creates water balls, water bullets, earth spikes, wind walls, ice, and other elemental effects. 29 35
  • Mobility enhancement: Reduces wind resistance and alters the ground beneath her feet to glide at extreme speed. 26 30
  • Terrain control: Adjusts ground hardness, elasticity, and friction to reposition herself or hinder opponents. 30 35
  • Combat support: Maintains her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's buffs while using Qimen to reposition allies and create openings for Tang San's hidden weapons. 28
  • Restriction: She cannot verbally explain the inheritance or pass it on to another person. 19
  • Limit: Heavy simultaneous use drains her soul power and can leave her exhausted, though she later demonstrates rapid recovery. 28 29

Qi Body Origin Stream

Rongrong uses the passive absorption function associated with her learned system to replenish depleted soul power by drawing ambient spiritual energy into her body. 29

  • Restores her after the battle against Zhao Wuji within roughly a dozen breaths. 29
  • Allows her to sustain high-speed movement with negligible stamina expenditure during running training. 30

Fine Control

Rongrong practices applying Wind Empress Qimen beyond direct combat.

  • Alters the elasticity beneath her feet to jump higher. 30
  • Creates small whirlwinds to gather fallen leaves. 30
  • Raises nearby air temperature to resist the afternoon chill. 30

Equipment / Items

  • Master Talisman — Given to her by Yang Xing after she inherits Wind Empress Qimen; she accepts it reluctantly and warns him against adding a “peeping function.” 19
  • Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect skincare set — Includes Dewy Snow Silkworm Balm, Glazed Beauty Cleansing Dew, and Moonlight Jade Cream. 52
  • Moonlight Jade Cream — A small jar costs 300 Gold Soul Coins; Rongrong leaves home with two jars. 52

Relationships

  • Yang Xing — Her master. Their relationship begins with deception, provocation, and her reluctant contract signing, but develops into trust in his strength and teachings. He protects and heals her when Li Yusong attacks her. 5 16 19 37 40
  • Ning Fengzhi — Her father and the Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. He is deeply concerned about her safety and investigates Yang Xing's identity and claim regarding Qiluo Tulip. 3 23 26
  • Chen Xin — Her “Grandpa Sword” and one of the sect's protective Titled Douluo. Rongrong cites him as a threat while trying to force Yang Xing to cancel their contract. 6 7
  • Gu Rong — Her “Grandpa Bone” and one of the sect's protective Titled Douluo. He reacts furiously to news that she took an unknown master and is dispatched to investigate Yang Xing. 6 23 26
  • Tang San — Shrek classmate and battle partner. Rongrong supports his strategy against Zhao Wuji and trusts him to seize an opening while she creates space for him. 27 28
  • Xiao Wu — Roommate and friend. Rongrong buys her food, listens to her fears, and promises to protect her from Yang Xing. 29 31 54
  • Zhu Zhuqing — Classmate whom Rongrong deliberately tries to befriend through food and conversation. 31 32
  • Oscar — Classmate who admires her and covers for her after she completes only ten of the required twenty laps; he is punished for lying to Flender. 30 31
  • Dai Mubai — Classmate and adversary. Their verbal conflict escalates into a duel after he threatens her; Yang Xing later punishes Dai for bullying her and her friends. 34 35 46
  • Li Yusong — Shrek gatekeeper who attempts to punish Rongrong over her conflict with Dai Mubai. She evades his attacks until Yang Xing intervenes. 36 37
