Background / History

Yuan Jie is one of Yuan Yan's Three-Selves Dao-body incarnations, born from the Primordial Gourd Vine through the lodgment of Yuan Yan's selves. Though their minds are linked at their origin, Yuan Jie acts independently and is entrusted with responsibilities suited to the World and Space-Time Great Daos. 28

After attaining Great Luo Golden Immortal, Yuan Jie explored Mount Buzhou separately from the other Dao bodies. His discoveries included the World Cauldron, Cosmos Pearl, Dream Millet, Bloodsoul Fruit Tree, and Taiyin Vase. Following the group's redistribution of resources, he retained the World Cauldron and Cosmos Pearl, which best suited his Dao. 19

Yuan Jie joined Yuan Yan, Yuan Lun, and Yuan Ling in cleansing the Three Clans Battlefields. He refined baleful qi, resentment, corpses, and residual Dao power into world power, then used it to mend shattered earth veins. Over thirty-six epochs, this work earned him substantial Heavenly Dao merit and advanced him to the middle stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal. 29 30

He was later ambushed by the perfected Great Luo Golden Immortal Netherworld Serpent Ancestor. Despite a two-stage cultivation disadvantage, Yuan Jie held his own for several hundred years using the World Cauldron, Cosmos Pearl, World Dao, and Space-Time Dao, while secretly summoning the other Three Yuans. The four ultimately killed the attacker and repaired the damage caused by their battle. 30 34

Following the group’s later seclusion, Yuan Jie reached the late stage of Great Luo Golden Immortal and joined Yuan Lun and Yuan Ling in repairing the Western Continent. He helped establish their sanctuary at the Supreme Awakening Range and created the Heaven-Earth Origin-Returning Formation, which converts chaos qi into spiritual qi, Dao-rhyme spiritual essence, and world-origin power. 42 43 50
