Background / History

Yuan Ling was created when Yuan Yan divided the remaining Primordial Gourd Vine into three portions, lodging his three selves within them. After ten yuanhui, the three portions transformed into independent Dao bodies. Yuan Ling emerged with a foundation only slightly below Yuan Yan’s and cultivation at perfected Taiyi Golden Immortal. 14

Yuan Yan assigned the name Yuan Ling to the Dao body who would principally cultivate the Dao of Mind. He received the Soul-Scattering Gourd and Spirit-Absorbing Gourd, whose soul-, confusion-, summoning-, and control-related Daos complemented that path. 15

After descending Mount Buzhou, Yuan Ling joined the Four Yuans’ treasure redistribution. He received the Illusory World Painting, Dream Millet, and Mind-Misleading Lotus as resources suited to the Mind Dao. 19

He later participated in the long campaign to cleanse the Three Clans Battlefields and repair the damaged earth veins of the Primordial World. The work earned him immense Heavenly Dao merit and carried him to the middle Great Luo stage. 28 30

Yuan Ling was born from Yuan Yan’s division of the Primordial Gourd Vine and became the Mind Dao-focused member of the Four Yuans. He advanced from perfected Taiyi to Great Luo Golden Immortal after transforming his Dao Fruit. 14 15

Cleansing the Three Clans Battlefields

After Yuan Yan summoned the three Dao bodies, Yuan Ling helped cleanse battlefields and repair damaged earth veins across the Primordial World. The campaign earned immense merit and raised him to the middle Great Luo stage. 28 30

The restored battlefields became suitable for settlement and reproduction, and nearby beings witnessed the Four Yuans’ earth-shaking techniques. Their gratitude spread the group’s fame and gathered Fortune and Merit even while Yuan Ling and his brothers remained secluded on Yingzhou Immortal Island. 42

Battle against Netherworld Serpent Ancestor

Yuan Ling concealed himself near Yuan Jie’s battlefield and joined the prepared ambush against Netherworld Serpent Ancestor. His Illusory World Painting trapped the enemy’s consciousness, while his Spirit-Absorbing Gourd helped seal the shattered indestructible true spirit. 33 34

Afterward, Yuan Ling and Yuan Lun extracted the ancestor’s memories, while the Four Yuans undertook restoration of the region damaged by their battle to make amends for the resulting Karmic Force. 34

Yingzhou Immortal Island and Western Restoration

After obtaining the Grand Illusory Mirror and Mirage Dragon Pearl, Yuan Ling received a Ninth-Rank World-Purifying White Lotus and joined the Four Yuans’ extended seclusion. He later returned to the Western Continent to assist with earth-vein restoration. 39 42 45

Establishment of the Cultivation Mechanism

Yuan Ling recruited tens of thousands of promising innate beings to Yingzhou Immortal Island, delegated their instruction to ten clones, and established a merit- and lecture-based cultivation structure. 49

The recruitment system originated from the need to protect the unattended formations used in Western Continent restoration. Yuan Ling and his brothers combined temporary clone guardians with the long-term cultivation of followers, assigning Yuan Ling to investigate suitable candidates through Heavenly Secrets. 48

Journey to the Purple Firmament Palace

As a perfected Great Luo Golden Immortal, Yuan Ling traveled with Yuan Yan, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Lun into the Inner Chaos. The Four Yuans used World-Purifying White Lotuses and their own cultivation to resist chaos qi while following the pull toward the Purple Firmament Palace. 64

During the struggle for the six meditation cushions, Yuan Ling and the other two Dao bodies acted to assist Yuan Yan, Nuwa, and Fuxi. Yuan Yan and Nuwa secured cushions, but Zhen Yuanzi’s intervention allowed Hong Yun to reach the final seat before Fuxi. 65

Contest for the Creation Azure Lotus

Yuan Ling accompanied Yuan Yan, Yuan Jie, Yuan Lun, Nuwa, and Fuxi to Mount Buzhou after the group sensed a major opportunity. They waited for the Primordial Formation nurturing the Twenty-Fourth-Rank Creation Azure Lotus to open rather than risk damaging the treasure through forced entry. 76

In the ensuing contest, Yuan Ling, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Lun jointly blocked and drove back the Three Pure Ones, giving Yuan Yan time to imprint and claim the lotus. The rivals then dispersed their formations rather than continue a costly battle over a treasure already secured. 82

Sworn Siblings and Primordial Golden Immortal Advancement

Nuwa and Fuxi formally joined the Yingzhou Immortal Island Lineage, becoming the Four Yuans’ sworn younger siblings and linking their destinies to the group. Yuan Ling subsequently received the Twelfth-Rank World-Purifying White Lotus and entered joint seclusion with the other five core members. 84 87 93

During the subsequent restoration of the Western Continent and development of the lineage, Yuan Ling attained the Primordial Golden Immortal realm. The Four Yuans later advanced together through the middle and late stages by sharing insights, Merit, Fortune, cultivation resources, and Dao-body comprehension. 104 112 152

Three Corpses Severing and Lineage Development

Yuan Ling severed his Obsession Corpse through the Spirit-Absorbing Gourd, assigning it to cultivate the Talisman Dao. Alongside Yuan Jie and Yuan Lun, he refined Dao Pills, preached to lineage members, improved the Heaven-Earth Origin-Returning Formation, and strengthened Yingzhou’s institutional foundations. 102 111 133

His Three Corpse Dao Bodies became part of the Four Yuans’ collective cultivation network, enabling them to pool comprehension and advance far faster than ordinary Top-Tier Innate Divines. 152 190

Yuan Ling also participated in refining Yuan Yan’s improved Three Corpses Severing Method. Since his own three corpses had already been severed, he could supplement the improved method by reflecting on his true nature and stripping away remaining benevolent, evil, and obsessive thoughts. 133

Western Earth Vein Network

Yuan Ling joined the coordinated activation of the Western Continent’s Earth Vein Network, deploying Great Firmament-level avatars alongside the other leaders, their Dao Bodies, and the lineage’s experts. The network increased the earth veins’ conversion efficiency by more than fifty percent, while the complete Heaven-Earth Origin-Returning Formation covered nearly forty percent of the continent and displayed Hunyuan-level power. 146

He subsequently joined the other Four Yuans in mobilizing the formation to relocate Mount Sumeru’s region through an exchange of territories. The immense Merit and Fortune associated with completing the restoration system carried Yuan Ling and his brothers from the seventh to the eighth layer of Primordial Golden Immortal. 150 152

Immortal Script and Northern Continent Development

Yuan Ling’s Obsession Corpse traveled throughout the Primordial World to study the cultures and writing systems of the myriad tribes, ultimately creating Immortal Script. At the same time, Yuan Ling cultivated Postnatal World-Purifying White Lotuses and Yinyang Twin-Bloom Lotuses to support the Northern Continent’s restoration. 167 204

Yuan Ling obtained Hongjun’s formal recognition of Immortal Script as the orthodox writing system of the Immortal Dao before announcing it to heaven and earth. Its recognition and establishment produced immense Merit and Fortune and expanded the lineage’s cultural and cultivation influence. 197 204 212

Yingzhou Commerce Association

Yuan Ling helped establish and expand the Yingzhou Commerce Association, which distributed pills, treasures, formation flags, and cultivation inheritances throughout the Primordial World. The association’s founding and commercial growth greatly increased the Fortune of Yuan Ling, the Four Yuans, and the Yingzhou Immortal Island Lineage. 176 178

The six leaders collectively planned more than a thousand branch offices, increased furnace and pill production, continued continental restoration, and spread their specialized inheritances. A shift system preserved at least half their time for cultivation while their production and commerce continued. 178

Primordial Golden Immortal Fullness

Through extended seclusion, observation of the Yin-Yang Great Dao Furnaces’ fusion with Treasure-Dropping Money, and collective Dao comprehension, Yuan Ling reached Primordial Golden Immortal Fullness with Yuan Yan, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Lun. Their Three Corpse Dao Bodies also advanced to the late Primordial Golden Immortal stage. 188 189 190

Shared Assets and Treasure Redistribution

After returning from the Third Lecture, Yuan Ling joined the six leaders’ review of shortages, administrative abuses, and stalled restoration work. They pooled their ideas to divide duties and distribute Origin Dao Pills without unnecessarily delaying their own cultivation. 200 201

During the subsequent redistribution of shared treasures, Yuan Ling retained the Twelfth-Rank World-Purifying White Lotus and refused Nuwa’s offer of the Mountain and River State Map. Yuan Yan instead promised him the future fusion product of Treasure-Dropping Money and the Yin-Yang Great Dao Furnaces. 208 209

The leaders equipped themselves and their Three Corpse Dao Bodies, established the distinction between the private Inner Treasury and the lineage’s public Outer Treasury, and agreed to borrow one another’s treasures for Dao comprehension. Yuan Ling then departed with his Dao Bodies to carry out his assigned duties. 210

Origin Dao Furnace

After the fusion of Treasure-Dropping Money and the Yin-Yang Great Dao Furnaces, Yuan Ling became the master of the Origin Dao Furnace. He placed it at the Changbai Mountain Range and organized its use in refining Origin Dao Pills, suppressing impurities, and converting the Northern Continent’s Grievance Fiendish Qi Origin. 240

Covert Scheme for the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation Diagram

When conflict over Dongwang Gong’s relics created an opportunity, Yuan Ling joined Yuan Yan, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Lun in a secret plan to seize the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation Diagram. The Four Yuans used Yuan Jie’s Evil Corpse’s hidden Space-Time Dao, reflections, formations, and false traces of other powers to conceal their involvement. 282

Although the Three Pure Ones and Ancestral Witches reached an agreement sooner than expected, Yuan Yan proceeded before they finished collecting the relics. The hidden formations produced a Chaos Bell phantom and an illusory Primordial River-Luo Grand Formation, activated Dongwang Gong’s treasures, and substituted a space-time reflection for the real diagram. The Ancestral Witches captured the visible artifacts but discovered that the diagram was only a reflection; the real treasure had escaped into deep space-time with its traces erased. 283

Three Corpse Integration and Half-Step Hunyuan

During a later descent of immeasurable Merit and Fortune, Yuan Ling and the other Four Yuans entered an enlightenment state resembling union with the Western Continent. They began merging their Three Corpse Dao Bodies and integrating the Great Daos cultivated by those bodies. 298

After Yuan Yan attained Hunyuan Great Firmament Golden Immortal, rival powers feared that Yuan Ling and his brothers would soon follow. By the time Xi He, Changxi, and Purple Light joined the lineage, Yuan Ling, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Lun were confirmed to have reached Half-Step Hunyuan Great Firmament Golden Immortal. 304 331

Northern Continent Enlightenment and Proving the Dao

Yuan Ling was included in Yuan Yan’s intended sharing of the Jade Disc of Creation during its thousand-epoch loan. Before the Northern Continent’s earth-vein network and Heaven-Earth Origin-Returning Formation were activated, he attended a meeting with Yuan Yan’s divine-sense avatar and the other leaders concerning their cultivation plans. 324 339

The Northern Continent’s restoration and formation improvements brought another immense descent of Merit and Fortune. Yuan Ling and the other five leaders merged with the continent’s true essence and entered collective enlightenment. 338

By the time Yuan Yan congratulated the group, Yuan Ling had completely fused his Three Corpse Dao Bodies and was undergoing a transformation requiring enormous quantities of qi. Yuan Yan urged Yuan Ling, Yuan Jie, Yuan Lun, and Nuwa to prove the Dao immediately and then accompany him into the Inner Chaos rather than linger in the Primordial World. Yuan Ling and his fellow Three-Selves Dao Bodies manifested their perfected Hunyuan Dao Fruits and Merit Golden Wheels, communing with heaven and earth to repay their karmic obligations and begin proving the Dao. 341
