Background

Yuan Lun originated as one of the three selves condensed by Yuan Yan and housed within the divided Primordial Gourd Vine. After ten yuanhui, the three selves manifested as independent young Daoists; each retained linked thoughts with Yuan Yan while possessing a distinct temperament. Yuan Yan assigned the name Yuan Lun to the Dao body who would principally cultivate the Dao of Reincarnation. 14 15

Yuan Lun climbed Mount Buzhou alongside Yuan Jie and Yuan Ling, then joined Yuan Yan in redistributing the group's discoveries according to their respective Great Daos. He received the Life-and-Death Wheel and Earth Spirit Pearl, while later obtaining the Mountain-Driving Whip during his own travels. 19 39

He took part in the Four Yuans' lengthy campaign to cleanse the Three Clans Battlefields, repair damaged earth veins, and earn Heavenly Dao merit. During the battle against the Netherworld Serpent Ancestor, Yuan Lun used the Life-and-Death Wheel to suppress fragments of the enemy's innate indestructible true spirit. He and Yuan Ling subsequently extracted and organized the ancestor's memories. 29 34

After reaching the late Great Luo realm, Yuan Lun was assigned to the Western Continent with Yuan Jie and Yuan Ling. At the Supreme Awakening Range, his Mountain-Driving Whip allowed the group to map the damaged earth veins and devise a safer method of restoration: guiding separated veins to grow and reconnect rather than forcibly relocating them. 43 44 45

Yuan Lun remained behind after Yuan Jie and Yuan Ling returned to cultivate, personally guiding the Supreme Awakening Range's earth veins for fifty to sixty thousand years. He completed the range's restoration, gained its recognition as master, established a Daoist field at its finest core spirit acupoint, and continued repairing surrounding earth veins. 45 46

Later, he worked with Yuan Jie to deduce the Heaven-Earth Origin-Returning Formation, lending the Mountain-Driving Whip for its deployment before returning to seclusion. He eventually accompanied Yuan Yan, Yuan Jie, and Yuan Ling into the Inner Chaos and helped protect Yuan Yan, Nuwa, and Fuxi during the contest for the Purple Firmament Palace's front-row cushions. 49 64 65

Yuan Lun appears as a handsome young Daoist with an upright bearing. He resembles Yuan Yan by roughly seventy percent, though his temperament differs from both Yuan Yan and the other Dao bodies. 14
