Background / History

Miko was an ordinary high school girl until her Spirit Vision awakened. Returning home one night, she saw a distorted Evil Spirit in her bathroom mirror. Terrified, she concealed her reaction and pretended she had seen nothing; this becomes her initial survival strategy as further spirits appear at school and around the city. 436

Her awareness isolates her from Hana, who cannot perceive the phenomena tormenting her. Seeking protection, Miko considers visiting shrines and even becoming a Miko, though she initially treats the idea as a desperate possibility rather than a life plan. 438 445

Gu Mo investigates the circumstances of her awakening and later offers her a position at his Shrine. Although hesitant because of school and her desire for a normal life, Miko accepts his contract after fighting alongside the Countermeasures Office's exorcists during an A-Class Evil Spirit incident. 440 447 459 465
