Background

Zhang Yang began as a disciple of Azure Cloud Master. Recognizing that the Azure Cloud Sect lacked cultivation resources, he persuaded his master and the elders to let him reform the sect. Azure Cloud Master entered half-year seclusion, entrusted Zhang Yang with the Sect Master Token, and allowed him to take charge of the sect's financial records and development. 2

As an early Golden Core cultivator, Zhang Yang possessed spiritual power far exceeding that of ordinary cultivators at his realm.
