Spirit Pagoda Downfall

Tang San enters the Spirit Pagoda expecting Soul Spirits to accept him, but they flee from him. 341 He undergoes an apparent contract with Azure Wind Ancient Bamboo, then poisons the area, kills Soul Spirits, murders a Spirit Transmitter, and loots spiritual materials within the Pagoda's illusion. Tang Yuehua later recounts these acts explicitly as events within the illusion. 342 346

When Azure Wind Ancient Bamboo refuses to kill other Soul Spirits, Tang San threatens to imprison it within his Soul Ring indefinitely and erase it after becoming a god. 343

Ye Hua confronts him and removes both his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline and apparent Soul Spirit. Tang San's Blue Silver Grass disappears, and his soul power falls to level 50. Ye Hua also reveals that Tang San had never formed a genuine Soul Spirit contract. 344

Ah Yin's observation of his behavior destroys her remaining hope for his reform. Tang Yuehua reports his actions to the Clear Sky Sect, and Tang San later learns that the woman he confronted near Holy Soul Village was his revived mother. 341 346 353

Tang Sect Foundation

Tang San returns to the Clear Sky Sect, proves himself in the Wasp Sect battle, and is accepted by the sect after his hidden-weapon identity is recognized. 350 351 After being forced into an arrangement with an unknown master and receiving sinister arts, he resolves to establish his own Tang Sect. 355

Titan and the Strength Clan pledge support after Tang San presents his hidden-weapon blueprints and Tang Sect techniques. 362 Tang San subsequently tries to recruit the Four Great Clans by offering exclusive secret techniques. 367

In the Wasp Sect battle, Tang San kills his initial opponent and disables three attacking disciples with Dragon Whisker Needles. His performance displays both his hammer technique and his willingness to employ lethal force in sect competition. 350

Four Great Clans Recruitment

Tang San's proposal initially fails when the Defense, Agility, and Breaking Clans learn of his Clear Sky Sect connection and resent the sect for abandoning them when it sealed its mountain. 367

During the Speed Clan's test, Bai Chenxiang avoids Tang San's Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Godly Zhuge Crossbow, exposing his tendency to resort to hidden weapons when frustrated. 369 He then publicly demonstrates Tang Sect techniques in an effort to prove their exclusivity, only for Ye Hua to reproduce them after observation. 371

Tang San also seeks Divine Craftsman Lou Gao's help in producing the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus and Peacock Plume, but Lou Gao declines the commission, leaving the Strength Clan to pursue production independently. 376 377

Tai Tan nevertheless refuses to abandon Tang San. When Niu Gao's disciples threaten to beat him, Tai Tan shields the sect master and ends his brotherhood with Niu Gao rather than withdraw his support. 371

Self-Abuse Domain Deterioration and Captivity

Tang San reunites with Yu Xiaogang in a brothel district while seeking a solution to the worsening Self-Abuse Domain. He reveals that he cannot circulate Soul Power without intense pain and itching, and Yu Xiaogang suggests pursuing a Divine Inheritance. 405

Immediately afterward, Tang San is ambushed by black smoke. Leng Yue confronts him for ignoring the unidentified sect's assignment to report to Maze Grand Canyon, while the domain continues to leave Tang San unable to effectively defend himself. 405 406

Leng Yue's attack sets Tang San's hidden-weapon pouch ablaze, detonating some of its contents and driving poisoned needles into him. A final wisp of black smoke enters his Sea of Consciousness, prompting Tang San to fight it with spiritual power. 406

Following the fire, Tang San tries to escape his pursuers through a sewer. A rat that he attempts to recruit with a biscuit bites him; after he injures it, Ye Hua revives the animal and persuades it to lead the pursuers to his hiding place. Tang San is dragged out and handed to Sister Zhou, who orders him to work off his debt and sends him to Young Master Chu. 408

Tang San is captured, mistaken for a woman, forcibly drugged, and delivered to Young Master Chu. Tailong comes close to locating him but leaves without realizing Tang San is inside, while Ye Hua places him under a misfortune curse intended to prolong his suffering for approximately a week. 409

Commissioning the Three Great Mechanical Hidden Weapons

While still in a miserable physical condition, Tang San retrieves three complete blueprints from beneath his pillow and gives them to Tai Tan. He identifies them as the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needles, and Peacock Plume, calling them his most treasured possessions and demanding their manufacture at any cost. 414

Tai Tan agrees and swears upon his Martial Soul to carry out the commission. Tang San is relieved, but privately notes that these weapons are far more difficult to produce than the Godly Zhuge Crossbow, requiring hundreds of trials to perfect the metal tempering and mechanical elasticity. At this stage, the passage establishes the commission, not successful completion of the weapons. 414

The commission is eventually fulfilled: when Tang San returns from his inheritance training, Tai Tan confirms that all three weapons are finished and leads him to the secret chamber where they are kept. 486

God of War Inheritance and Level 97 Bottleneck

Tang San later trains in the God of War Inheritance Ruins and becomes the god's accepted successor. One endurance test requires him to dress as a woman and dance in the streets for a year. Tang San regards completing it as proof of his perseverance, while the God of War privately acknowledges that it had been intended to make him give up. 485

After years of training, Tang San has reached level 97 but reports that he has been stuck there for almost two years. Absorbing the God of War's remaining divine power does not resolve his subsequent slow progress or restore his severed organ. The God of War attributes his difficulty to insufficient battle experience and criticizes his inability to defeat equal-strength opponents despite his confidence against outsiders. 485

His trial pits him against five phantoms resembling himself. They wield Clear Sky Hammers, feel neither pain nor fatigue, and coordinate attacks against his vital points. His hidden weapons fail to penetrate their Super Douluo-strength bodies, and an attempt to use Nine-Nine Return to One leaves an opening that sends him crashing into a wall. 485

The God of War promises to raise him directly to level 99 if he defeats the phantoms within one month and permits outside assistance. Tang San therefore leaves to retrieve the three great mechanical hidden weapons, believing they will allow him to pass the final trial. Unbeknownst to him, the God of War views him as a successor who can assume his obligations in the impending conflict while he departs. 485 486

Return to the Bankrupt Tang Sect

Tang San returns to Heaven Dou City after several days of travel, wearing makeup to avoid wanted notices. He remains confident that godhood is near and disregards residents who recognize and ridicule him for his earlier public dancing. On reaching the Strength Clan's ancestral residence, however, he discovers that the Tang Sect's headquarters is dilapidated and stripped of its former furnishings. 486

Tai Tan explains that the sect's hidden weapons cannot compete with the Long Night Alliance's soul tools. The approaching graduation of the Soul Tool Academy's first class promises further increases in variety and reductions in price, leaving the Tang Sect's expensive and comparatively weak products without buyers. After Tai Tan mortgages the clan's property, the business fails and the Imperial Bank seizes and auctions its assets. 486

Tang San responds by blaming Tai Tan and demanding to know why a Soul Douluo did not resist the seizure. He assumes Poison Douluo was responsible and declares that he will recover the money through force. Frustrated by Tang San's refusal to listen, Tai Tan falsely confirms that assumption and privately regrets not joining Ye Hua instead. 486

Tai Tan then reveals that the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus, Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needles, and Peacock Plume have been completed. Tang San inspects them in the clan chiefs' secret forging chamber and insists that nothing may go wrong with his inheritance attempt. His demands escalate into coercion: he suppresses Tai Tan's Soul Power, strikes him, threatens death for betrayal, and promises resurrection after attaining godhood if Tai Tan dies assisting him. 486

Defeat by Wang Qiu'er and Xue Ke

Outside the Tang Sect, Tang San encounters Wang Qiu'er and Xue Ke. Xue Ke recognizes him despite the years that have passed. Seeing her eight Soul Rings, Tang San remains confident that his Super Douluo cultivation will prevail, although her hundred-thousand-year ring unsettles him. 487

Wang Qiu'er then reveals power that overturns his expectations. Her Ultimate Douluo-level pressure forces him to his knees and makes him spit blood. After briefly asking for peace, he renews his confidence and attacks with the Clear Sky Hammer, believing his inheritance and Tang Sect techniques will let him win at close range.
