Background / History

First Simulation

Bai Fan enters a simulation through Yu Xiaogang's body and immediately rejects the original body's resignation. Starting at rank 10, he trains his physique for a month, insists on obtaining a dragon-blooded Soul Ring, and successfully absorbs the thousand-year Golden Saint Python. The absorption evolves Luo Sanpao into Little Golden Dragon, validating his belief that “there are no useless martial souls, only useless Soul Masters.” 2 3

While traveling, Bai Fan meets Bibi Dong in Spirit City. Though he initially tries to avoid becoming involved with her, he protects her during a life-and-death battle and is deeply affected by a village massacre committed by Evil Soul Masters. He vows to create a continent free of oppression and exploitation, while Bibi Dong teaches him practical combat and a vitality-and-spiritual-power-based explosive technique. 4 5

After Qian Xunji humiliates him and separates him from Bibi Dong, Bai Fan seeks power through Dugu Bo's resources and the Immortal Herbs. His cultivation rises rapidly, and Little Golden Dragon becomes an independent being whose life is no longer bound to his own. Bai Fan travels the continent, kills Evil Soul Masters, protects remote communities, and begins gathering commoners into the Red Army. 6 8 10

Bai Fan later becomes the God of Slaughter, passes Hell Road, and gains the Slaughter Domain. He turns his growing movement into a revolutionary force, founds the Republic Empire after overthrowing corrupt local rulers, and enforces its principle that Soul Masters and commoners are equal before its laws. 13 15 17

The Republic Empire expands by capturing the Skyfrost Duchy and the Sylvis Kingdom, while Bai Fan develops strategies to undermine the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires. Once his identity is exposed, he publicly abandons the name Yu Xiaogang and declares himself Bai Fan, founder of the Republic Empire, to protect the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect and establish a legacy separate from it. 22 27 31

When Spirit Hall uses Bibi Dong as bait, Bai Fan enters Spirit City despite recognizing the trap. He reaches Soul Douluo, rescues her, kills Qian Xunji through a permanent Soul Ring detonation, and ultimately sacrifices himself through Five Elements Return as One. Little Golden Dragon self-destructs alongside him, killing Qian Daoliu and Golden Crocodile Douluo as Spirit City is destroyed. 34 35 37

After the First Simulation

Bai Fan awakens in the Star Dou Great Forest with Little Golden Dragon and learns from Zhang Jiao that the Heavenly Screen broadcast every action and inner thought from his first simulation across the continent. His simulated history has made him known as the Republic Empire's founder and a symbol of faith for commoners. 38

Second Simulation

Bai Fan accepts a second simulation in which he occupies Huo Yuhao's role. He attempts to help Huo Yun'er escape the White Tiger Duke's Estate, but she is recaptured and dies after enabling his escape. Bai Fan vows revenge against Dai Hao and the estate. 39 40 41

He acquires Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm and Elex as powerful presences within his spiritual sea, enters Shrek Academy, joins the Tang Sect, and uses his knowledge of future events to secure allies, resources, and advantageous situations. His calculating behavior earns him victories in the freshman assessment, but his confrontation with Wu Feng awakens Elex. 41 42 44 46

Bai Fan is ambitious, defiant, and deeply unwilling to accept a fate imposed by talent, lineage, or powerful institutions. He repeatedly challenges established Soul Master conventions, from absorbing an unusually old first Soul Ring to teaching commoners skills normally reserved for the privileged. 2 23

His political ideals are rooted in his disgust toward oppression and the treatment of ordinary people as expendable. He seeks equality, yet rejects naïve compassion: corrupt nobles, abusive officials, and even members of his own forces are punished when they violate the Republic Empire's principles. 5 15 17 25

Bai Fan is capable of compassion and self-sacrifice, particularly toward Da Niu, Little Golden Dragon, Bibi Dong, and his followers.
