• Batman identified the Flash as the visitor from Christmas Demon Night and prepared to travel to Central City, but an alarm reported another theft from one of his temporary bases.
• Alfred found Batman gone and the invitation left behind as the Batmobile roared away.

A Kryptonian reconnaissance ship attacked Kent Farm, destroying the house and forcing Clark to fight its crew while fearing for Martha Kent. Clark’s first clash with Udom Say ended with the Kryptonian warrior challenging him to a fight.

• Miao Mu, Clark, Bruce, Barry, and the others gathered at Kent Farm and discussed the reconnaissance ship and filming a Mother's Day event.
• A reconnaissance spacecraft landed in the yard and fired a destructive beam through the house, but Barry rescued Martha Kent and Clark shielded the others.
• Clark destroyed the spacecraft with his Heat Vision, then flipped it to send its next beam into the sky.
• Udom Say emerged from the ship and attacked Clark, who fought back by driving him deep into the ground.

• Miao Mu kept three Kryptonian warriors pinned underground while Bruce used a hammer to disable a female warrior’s armor.
• The female Kryptonian tore off her helmet, became overwhelmed by Earth’s sights, sounds, and smells, and passed out; Bruce covered her to shield her from sunlight.

• Flag saw Team A cross safely and ordered Killer Frost, Double Down, and their Talon squad to follow.
• Flag dispatched Retribution and arranged additional teams to provide cover and reserves.
• Nygma watched the approaching forces and ordered his people to move before they escaped.

Task Force X’s teams entered the Arkham District and encountered a fierce counterattack from its defenders. Otis’s rats eliminated nearby agents, but red lights appeared in the sky as he declared the area cleared.

• Croc-Man ambushed Team A, smashing Captain Boomerang through the air and knocking El Diablo down.
• Captain Boomerang’s boomerangs failed to slow Croc-Man, and Croc-Man sent him crashing into the street.
• El Diablo unleashed his flames, but Deadshot shot him in the throat from the Arkham Asylum rooftop.
• Otis sent rats into nearby apartments, where they overwhelmed and killed disguised agents.
• Otis ordered giant sewer rats to attack agents descending from a rooftop, then noticed red points of light in the sky.

General Zod announced that he had come for Carl and ordered an assault on Metropolis, Central City, and Gotham. As the invasion began, Killer Frost and Double Down fled through Gotham while Fireflies attacked the Court of Owls.

• Miao Mu, Batman, and the others discovered that more than a thousand alien pods were descending toward Metropolis, Central City, and Gotham.
• Batman learned that the military was mobilizing while officials at the Pentagon argued over activating a plan called Hunter.
• General Zod hijacked the world's satellite systems, identified himself, demanded Carl, and ordered a full-force attack.
• The alien pods accelerated toward the three cities as Clark watched Zod's broadcast from Barry's home.
• Killer Frost and Double Down ran from two Fireflies attacking the Court of Owls, and Double Down's playing cards caught fire after he threw them at one attacker.

Nygma watched the Firefly brothers attack the Talons, then saw a robot assemble itself from cars in a warehouse. In Central City, Superman and the Flash watched another metal-gathering sphere transform, while Miao Mu went to rescue General Lane after he was captured while fleeing by helicopter.

• Nygma watched the Firefly brothers burn the Talon attackers who had targeted Miao Mu's family, and considered what to do with the CIA agents.
• A fireball crashed into a used-car warehouse, where metal parts assembled into a robot that roared, "CYBERTRON!"
• General Veidt asked about the Aberrants, robots the Kryptonians planned to use in their campaign to capture Superman Clark and reclaim Krypton.
• Superman Clark caught a falling pod over a Central City plaza and hurled it into a Sherman tank memorial, where it began absorbing nearby metal.
• The Flash evacuated the crowd, then joined Superman as they watched the sphere gather metal and transform, sharing ice cream as they waited.
• Miao Mu went to handle General Lane's capture after Lane fled in a helicopter, while the Pentagon attack was dismissed as unimportant.

The Martian Manhunter fought Udom Say after the Hunter Project made him serve the United States in exchange for protection and freedom for his fellow Martians. As the Martian Manhunter searched the damaged Department of Defense, a Mechanical Giant attacked, killed CIA agents, and escaped with Udom Say.

• Udom Say shot down an F-35 and confronted the Martian Manhunter after General Lane escaped by helicopter.
• The Martian Manhunter struck Udom Say with psychic Heat Vision, threw him from the building, and entered the Department of Defense to search for survivors and enemies.
• CIA agents arrived with LexCorp equipment to capture the Martian Manhunter, but a Mechanical Giant formed from the F-35 wreckage and burned them to ash.
• The Mechanical Giant fired a missile at the Martian Manhunter, then seized the dazed Udom Say and fled with him inside its chest.

Miao Mu and Batman raced to rescue General Lane from a Mechanical Giant that had appeared amid the falling pods and meteor-like debris. Batman attacked the machine while Miao Mu transformed into a giant stone form to face it, leaving the battle about to begin.

• Miao Mu and Batman drove a garbage truck toward General Lane after he called for urgent help, while Batman tracked the falling objects on his wrist computer.
• They found a crashed helicopter and machine-like footprints, then spotted a Mechanical Giant in the warehouse district pursuing General Lane.
• Batman rescued General Lane from falling warehouse roofing and identified himself before attacking the Mechanical Giant with explosives.
• Batman’s explosion staggered the Mechanical Giant, while Miao Mu examined the energy animating it and called it a kind of mechanical zombie.

• Miao Mu tore apart a Mechanical Giant and devastated the warehouse district, while General Lane watched the destruction.

The chapter ended with Otis’s rats surrounding Rick Flag and spreading out to hunt for the remaining Task Force X members.

• Miao Mu picked up a fragment of the AllSpark Stone, greeted General Lane, and left with Batman after handing Lane the garbage truck keys.
• Gotham citizens attacked the Mechanical Giants and hunted down Reserve Talons, overwhelming them with a furious crowd.
• Oswald the Penguin ordered his news companies to cover the crisis and set out with a humanoid shark as his bodyguard.
• Deadshot fired on the Mechanical Giants from a patrol airship, while Gotham’s coastal defense cannons destroyed one of them.
• Rick Flag surrendered to Otis as a tide of rats surrounded him, and Otis sent the rats to search for the other Task Force X members.

Miao Mu returned to Gotham after a night of fighting and rested while Batman surveyed the city and went out to restore order. Meanwhile, Harvey Dent survived another assassination attempt as attackers prepared to strike his home again.

• Miao Mu landed on Wayne Enterprises' rooftop, found Gotham still chaotic but stable, and decided to rest.
• Batman checked Gotham's situation through Alfred, then left the rooftop to patrol the city on a new Batcycle.
• Batman’s appearance frightened would-be looters into abandoning their plans and joining protests against the Court of Owls.
• Harvey Dent watched James Gordon's press conference from home while an assassin's corpse lay by his bullet-riddled door.
• Attackers threw a grenade into Harvey Dent's living room, but he took cover and returned fire with his submachine gun.

Batman rescued Harvey Dent from an assassination attempt and then rushed to Jack Napier after hearing that Napier was in danger. Batman stopped Napier from shooting himself, but an alarm sent him racing toward Metropolis, which had fallen.

• Batman defeated seven armed attackers and found Harvey Dent alive, though exhausted, inside the darkened room.
• Harvey Dent told Batman that Jack Napier had also been threatened and was hiding, then went to sleep on the sofa.
• Batman asked Alfred to find Jack Napier's address and headed to Napier's home.
• Jack Napier prepared to shoot himself while Harley watched, but Batman burst in, took apart the revolver, and asked whether Harley was sick.
• Jack told Batman that seeing him had given him a reason to live, but Batman hurried away when his wrist alarm showed that Metropolis had fallen.

General Zod captured Superman and ordered the Kryptonian Gene Bank rebuilt while preparing to secure Krypton’s future. Elsewhere, Barry ran out of energy, and at Arkham Asylum Captain Boomerang spoke with a strange prisoner who offered to help him escape.

• General Zod had Udom Say take the exhausted Superman to the genetic engineering chamber and ordered the Gene Bank rebuilt and protected.
• General Zod ordered his forces to contact the American president, destroy approaching threats, and complete a gravitational conversion within a year.
• Barry ate pizza to recover from a leg cramp while The Rogues discussed how to stop him from running.
• Captain Boomerang woke in Arkham Asylum and heard a neighboring prisoner speak to him through a straw connected to a toilet.
• The prisoner offered to help Captain Boomerang escape if he would find Mister Bones, then insulted him about his father and his boomerang skills.

Batman waited in Metropolis for reinforcements to prepare a mission against the Kryptonian fleet, while Miao Mu gathered help and headed to meet Lex Luthor. They set out with a small team as the danger in orbit loomed.

• Lucius Fox arrived with rockets and warned Batman that he was too human to take on the mission, but Batman insisted on going.
• Miao Mu and Brucie arrived in a rally car, and Miao Mu told Batman that Lex Luthor could help solve the problem.
• Batman rode off on the Batcycle while Lucius and Brucie discussed reconstruction work.
• Miao Mu borrowed Brucie's phone and recruited Deathstroke, who agreed to come to Metropolis.

Luthor outfitted the heroes with space-ready armor and sent them to confront the Kryptonian fleet. The first assault began in orbit, with Martian Manhunter and the others breaking into enemy ships as they searched for Superman.

• Luthor proposed using rockets and specially made armor to send the heroes into orbit, and Batman said they needed Superman's help to defeat the aliens.
