Background

Geto was once Satoru Gojo's partner and equal. The death of his companions and the Time Vessel Association's killing of Riko Amanai contributed to his descent into becoming a curse user. He later took control of the Time Vessel Association, a long-standing cult formerly devoted to Tengen, and reshaped its doctrine around his own objectives. 10 13

His ideal was to create a world without humans or cursed spirits. Since cursed spirits arise from humanity's fear and negative emotions, Geto concluded that killing all ordinary humans and leaving only sorcerers who could control their cursed energy would end the cycle. 8 22

Personality

Geto is a determined idealist whose conviction persists even when he recognizes its flaws. Ronawa's argument that sorcerers would still fight one another even without humans or curses leaves him deeply shaken, but he refuses to abandon the cause to which he devoted his life. 22 23

He is also calculating and manipulative. He identifies Ronawa as an asset with limitless potential, threatens to expose her identity to force cooperation, and uses the Time Vessel Association's worship and sacrificial rituals to influence her view of humanity. 4 9 13

Despite this ruthlessness, he becomes protective of Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba and eventually stops treating Ronawa solely as a weapon. Before his final battle, he entrusts the sisters to Ronawa, treating her as a friend rather than a tool for his plan. 21 30

Recruitment of Ronawa

After learning that Gojo has protected a newborn Special-Grade Curse, Geto intervenes against the sorcerers pursuing Ronawa and attempts to recruit her. He refrains from controlling her with Cursed Spirit Manipulation because doing so would halt her growth. 4

He later confronts her again, explains his ambition to eliminate humanity and cursed spirits, and offers to help her grow in exchange for her cooperation. When persuasion fails, he forces an agreement by threatening to reveal her true identity. 8 9

Double-Agent Arrangement

Geto brings Ronawa into the Time Vessel Association and elevates her as the cult's holy maiden. He exposes her to human cruelty through staged sacrifices, seeking to turn her into a weapon against humanity. 13

Unknown to him, Ronawa remains in contact with Gojo as a double agent, gathering information on Geto's plans and followers. 10

Clash of Ideals

Geto attempts to persuade Ronawa to support humanity's eradication. She rejects him, arguing that not all humans deserve death and that conflict would persist even if humans and curses vanished. 22

Night Parade and Death

Geto launches the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons during Ronawa's decisive battle with Gojo. He confronts the Jujutsu Higher-Ups to prevent them from interfering, fully aware that the battle will likely kill him. 31 32

Overwhelmed alongside Tamamo-no-Mae, he uses Maximum: Uzumaki as a final attack. Mortally injured afterward, he admits to Gojo that he is tired and seeks to pay for the wrongs committed in pursuit of his impossible dream. He dies in Gojo's presence. 33 38

Posthumous Possession

After Gojo buries him, Kenjaku appears at Geto's grave and later takes possession of his body. Kenjaku subsequently inherits Geto's assets, including the Time Vessel Association, but not the cursed spirits Geto expended through Uzumaki. 38 39 42
