Background / History

The Human Clan initially lived in scattered Eastern Sea Coast tribes. Their communities relied on hunting, simple food preparation, and animal-skin clothing; despite being nourished by spiritual qi, ordinary humans remained mortal and generations continued to die of age, illness, and hunting accidents. 23 29

After returning to a tribe that had once sheltered him, Chen Yang found that only Sui Qing remained from his former acquaintances. The tribe had prospered under intermittent Jie Sect protection, but its members still suffered from limited aptitude and mixed bloodlines. 23

Chen Yang began reforming the Human Clan through its children. Using the Human Pool, he purified bloodlines and improved aptitude and wisdom, then chose literacy rather than cultivation as the foundation of long-term change. 23

Over ten thousand years, Chen Yang and three thousand students traveled among Eastern Sea Coast tribes. They spread Human Clan Script, standardized surnames, record-keeping, and the production of brush, ink, paper, and inkstones; disciples remained behind as teachers to continue the work. 24

The Human Clan collectively accepted the script and honored Chen Yang as the Human Teacher. This recognition bound faith and fortune to him while giving the race a shared written identity and a means to preserve knowledge across generations. 24 25

Human Clan Script

Human Clan Script was simplified from Dao Script and adapted to Human Clan concepts. Its acceptance depended on Chen Yang’s status as a pure Human Clan member, his recognized connection to the Three Teachings, and his sustained work among the tribes. 23 25

Cultivation Systems

Totem Cultivation Method

The Totem Cultivation Method converts visualization methods into formation patterns tattooed onto the body. It was developed for humans who could not easily practice the Wu Tribe’s demanding body-tempering arts. 39

• Totem patterns draw in spiritual energy and merge it into the practitioner’s body, tempering flesh and strengthening the Primordial Spirit. 39

Demon forces massacre numerous Eastern Sea Coast settlements, killing tens or hundreds of millions of humans and reducing tribes, schools, and baptism pools to ruins. The survivors’ sacrifices and Chen Yang’s response deepen the race’s collective enmity toward the Demon Race. 36

Rise of Human Military Power
