Power Progression

Background / History

Luxuan was born as the first strand of Innate Dao breath associated with Penglai Immortal Island. After countless epochs of cultivation within the island, he perfected his human form and awakened to find Yunxiao, Qiongxiao, and Bixiao entering Penglai through its innate restriction. At the same time, his Daoist sect master system activated, granting a hundredfold homologous return whenever a disciple experienced genuine growth. 1

Recognizing the Three Cloud Sisters’ exceptional foundations and future potential, Luxuan guided them at Enlightenment Cliff before offering to accept them as disciples. Once they formally entered his sect, he gave each a personalized cultivation scripture and a Supreme-grade Innate Spirit Treasure. He also resolved to protect them from the dangerous fate they would otherwise face. 2 3 4

Penglai’s existence was exposed when Luxuan’s advancement briefly pierced its restrictions. He subsequently rejected the Celestial Court’s attempt to register Penglai and repeatedly defeated its forces, eventually forcing Dongwang Gong to pay compensation and recognize Penglai’s autonomy. 5 7 15 16

After accepting Zhao Gongming as a registered disciple, Luxuan used the feedback from Zhao’s Great Luo breakthrough and Twenty-Four Heavens to unify his own Daos. He later destroyed Dongwang Gong and the Celestial Court after its final invasion of Penglai. 23 24 30 33

Following the conflict, Luxuan redirected the Celestial Court’s seized resources into Penglai’s spiritual veins, formations, cultivation grounds, and internal space. His long-term objective became the evolution of Penglai from an immortal island into a self-sustaining world. 35 36 37

Luxuan brought his four disciples to Hongjun’s second sermon at Violet Cloud Palace. He respectfully distinguished his Primordial Unity path from Hongjun’s Three-Corpse Slaying method, holding that the latter was valid but not suited to his own integrated Dao. At Treasure-Dividing Cliff, he studied the World Adamant Stone’s overlapping spaces and gained a plan for building attached secret realms within Penglai. 38 40 41 42 46

Luxuan subsequently gained Fangzhang Origin when the same-origin island acknowledged him. Fangzhang’s merger expanded Penglai’s internal space more than tenfold. In a later contest with Di Jun and Grand Unity, he resolved Yingzhou’s past, present, and future manifestations and received its Time Origin. The three islands’ origins were then united as Creation, Space, and Time, and Penglai evolved into the Three Immortals World. 51 54 65 67 70

The world’s completion advanced Luxuan’s cultivation. He then directed the Three Cloud Sisters into the Valley of Years to pursue Great Luo; their successive breakthroughs, followed by Zhao Gongming’s completion of the Twenty-Four Heavens, raised him to Peak Primordial Unity Golden Immortal. As the Demon and Witch Clans grew, he increasingly let his disciples handle external challenges. Penglai’s rising reputation brought many applicants, but Luxuan remained unwilling to accept disciples merely to increase their number. 70 72 73 74 75 89

Appearance

Luxuan appears as a young Daoist in dark robes. His exterior is notably unassuming: when he first meets the Three Cloud Sisters, he displays neither obvious pressure nor detectable magical-power fluctuations. 1

Personality

Luxuan is calm, confident, and casually irreverent even when facing enemies of greater conventional realm. He routinely treats Quasi-Saint attacks, army formations, and political threats as manageable problems—or useful teaching material. 12 13 14

He is also highly pragmatic. Luxuan initially recruits disciples partly because their advancement benefits him through the hundredfold-return system, yet he consistently invests enormous resources into their cultivation and prioritizes their safety when genuine danger arises. 1 3 8 16

As a teacher, he favors guidance over dependence. He gives disciples methods and corrections suited to their paths, but deliberately withholds perfected answers when personal comprehension is more valuable. 18 21 22

He respects useful knowledge without accepting that any one method suits everyone: he acknowledges Hongjun’s Corpse-Slaying path while continuing to develop his own. He also favors coexistence over unnecessary political submission or conflict, agreeing with Di Jun on boundaries between Penglai and the Demon Clan. 41 42 59

Transformation of Penglai

Luxuan stabilizes the Eastern Sea without establishing a replacement Celestial Court, then incorporates the defeated faction’s resources into Penglai. The island develops internal spatial expansion, self-sustaining spiritual circulation, sun-and-moon nodes, and the beginnings of a world membrane. 35 36 37

Violet Cloud Palace and the Three Immortal Islands

At Hongjun’s second sermon, Luxuan publicly explains why he follows Primordial Unity rather than Three-Corpse Slaying. After studying Treasure-Dividing Cliff, he gains Fangzhang and then Yingzhou Origins.
