Power Progression

Background / History

Penglai was nurtured from Chaos fragments and the Great Wilderness Origin after the creation of heaven and earth. Alongside it, Luxuan was born as the first strand of Innate Dao breath; their origins remain closely linked. For countless epochs, the island remained concealed in the Eastern Sea behind its Innate formation. 1 38

Yunxiao, Qiongxiao, and Bixiao first entered Penglai while pursuing an Innate Colored Cloud Butterfly. They found an island whose visible wealth—including mature Innate spiritual roots, Three Lights Divine Water, and a nine-grade white lotus—far surpassed ordinary immortal islands. 1

Luxuan’s cultivation breakthroughs and his disciples’ progress continuously strengthened Penglai. He learned to apply returned Array, Space, and other Dao insights not only to himself, but to the island’s formations, spiritual veins, and natural environment. 5

Following the destruction of Dongwang Gong’s Celestial Court, Luxuan relocated its accumulated resources, spiritual veins, spiritual roots, palaces, and materials into Penglai. This influx began its transition from an exceptionally rich Innate grotto-heaven into a world with its own internal space, yin-yang nodes, and spiritual circulation. 34 36 37

Appearance

Penglai manifests as a vast immortal island suspended amid clouds and mist, with spiritual qi dense enough to condense into seven-colored auspicious clouds. It can remain completely absent from outside perception until its formation opens a path into the island. 5 6

• Its interior became several times larger than its apparent exterior after its world-space expansion. 36

Defenses & World Functions

Innate Concealment Formation

Penglai’s innate grand formation conceals the island so thoroughly that even Great Luo cultivators may fail to detect it while standing outside its boundaries. The three overseas immortal islands are naturally difficult to locate unless they reveal themselves. 6 20 38

Origin Connection

Luxuan was nurtured alongside Penglai and can command its origin, earth veins, spiritual veins, and internal terrain. He can reach any point within the island with a thought and restructure its geography and resource distribution. 5 36

• Luxuan can incorporate environmental force and Array Dao into attacks, as demonstrated when he used an ordinary leaf to suppress a Celestial Court envoy. 7
• Penglai’s spiritual veins can be extended, connected, and reorganized through Luxuan’s Space and Array Daos. 5 36 37
• Its growing origin enabled Luxuan to sense the same-origin auras of Fangzhang and Yingzhou. 37 38

Self-Sustaining Spiritual Cycle

Luxuan reorganized Penglai’s veins into a world-scale circulation: qi rises in the east, transforms in the heavens, descends in the west, while yin and yang alternate across north and south. 37

• The stabilized cycle produces widespread spiritual rain that promotes vegetation, spiritual herbs, and transplanted Innate spiritual roots. 37
• The process is intended to let Penglai function without Luxuan constantly maintaining it. 37
• The resulting World Fetal Membrane is incomplete and cannot yet fully separate Penglai from the Great Wilderness. 37

Notable Locations

• Three Lights Divine Water Lake — A lake where Sunlight, Moonlight, and Starlight Divine Water combine into Creation Divine Water. Its waters can restore, purify, and nourish bodies, Primordial Spirits, Innate Origins, and spiritual roots. 17
• Treasure Cliff — A mountain containing vast stores of Innate Spirit Treasures, including Supreme-grade treasures bestowed on Luxuan’s disciples. It was later replenished with the Celestial Court’s captured treasure stockpile. 4 37
• Enlightenment Cliff / Myriad Laws Stele Forest — Originally a natural site covered in Great Dao traces. Luxuan later integrated valuable Dao traces from Celestial Court archives into it, creating a forest of steles representing many Dao paths. 2 37
• Primordial Sword Valley — Qiongxiao’s cultivation site, rich in sword-related Dao intent. 5
• Void Cliff — A region of unusually active spatial energy used by Bixiao for Space Dao cultivation and experimentation. 5 19
• Valley of Years — A cultivation region with a stable one-to-ten time ratio: one year outside equals ten years within. 37
• Northern Spirit-Gathering Array — Zhao Gongming’s breakthrough site, formed by Luxuan from several immortal mountains at the confluence of Innate Spiritual Veins. 24

• Discovery and discipleship — The Three Cloud Sisters accidentally enter Penglai, encounter Luxuan, and become his first direct disciples. 1 3
• Celestial Court dispute — Dongwang Gong attempts to register Penglai under Celestial Court control and erect a Dao Stele on the island; Luxuan rejects all claims of authority. 6
• Defense of independence — Penglai becomes the site of repeated Celestial Court assaults, from individual envoys to armies of one hundred thousand and eventually one million immortals. 7 10 26 27
• Defeat of Dongwang Gong — Luxuan destroys Purple Palace Isle’s formation, kills Dongwang Gong, and ends the Celestial Court as an Eastern Sea power. 33
