Background

Purple Palace Isle had operated in the Eastern Sea for many years before the Celestial Court’s rapid expansion. After Hongjun conferred the title of Leader of Male Immortals upon Dongwang Gong, scattered immortals increasingly submitted to the island, giving it the momentum to command the Eastern Sea’s immortals. 6

The Court’s interest in Penglai began when patrols observed the legendary island briefly reveal itself during Luxuan’s breakthrough. Its scouts reported Penglai’s identifying Dao scripts, extraordinary foundations, and the presence of an established Great Luo master. 5 6

Dongwang Gong initially chose political absorption over outright seizure. He ordered Penglai’s master to enter the immortal roster, erect a Celestial Court Dao Stele, submit periodic records of its residents and breakthroughs, and register Luxuan’s disciples. 6

Government and Authority

• Imperial ruler: Dongwang Gong exercised supreme authority from Purple Palace Isle and issued the Court’s military decrees. 6 25
• Claimed jurisdiction: The Court treated Eastern Sea cultivators—especially male immortals—as subject to Dongwang Gong’s title and its registration system. 6

• Immortal forces — The Court fielded Great Luo, Taiyi, and Primordial Unity Golden Immortal cultivators, as well as large formations of ordinary immortal soldiers. 8 10 26
• Myriad Immortals Formation — A formation linking vast numbers of soldiers, Great Luo nodes, celestial fortune, and Dongwang Gong’s control. Its rudimentary version used one hundred thousand soldiers; the complete version united roughly one million troops and approached Late Quasi-Saint power. 14 30

Conflict with Penglai

Dongwang Gong’s flight from the final battlefield shattered the million-strong army’s morale. Luxuan deliberately spared most ordinary soldiers, identifying Dongwang Gong and the war-supporting Great Luo immortals as the conflict’s principal instigators. 33

At Purple Palace Isle, Dongwang Gong activated every available defense and burned the remaining Celestial Court fortune in a final attack. Luxuan destroyed the island-protecting formation, shattered Dongwang Gong’s body, trapped his Primordial Spirit, and crushed both it and his true soul. 33

With Dongwang Gong dead, the Celestial Court’s fortune dragon split apart and its institutional authority collapsed. Remaining cultivators were permitted to leave rather than being forcibly absorbed into Penglai. 33

Legacy

• Penglai acquired its resources — Luxuan claimed the Court’s vaults, spiritual veins, roots, materials, formation records, palaces, and other accumulated assets as spoils of victory. 34
• Purple Palace Isle survived — Rather than destroy the island, Luxuan preserved it as a future Penglai outpost and returned most ordinary former Court territories to their previous owners or to ownerless status. 35
• Eastern Sea order changed — Penglai did not recreate the Court’s registration system or compel cultivators to join it. Instead, Luxuan prohibited opportunistic seizure of cave abodes and spiritual veins, enforcing this rule through his disciples. 35
• Penglai’s transformation accelerated — The confiscated spiritual veins and resources were integrated into Penglai, expanding its internal space and supporting its development toward an independent world. 36 37

Relationships

• Dongwang Gong — Ruler and central source of the Court’s authority; his death directly caused its destruction. 6 33
• Hongjun — Granted Dongwang Gong the title of Leader of Male Immortals, which the Court used to justify its claimed jurisdiction. 6
