Background / History
Milo is the cherished second son of the Olden Family, one of the three great knight families of the Northern Countries. His father, Knight Alden, is Frich's City Lord; his mother is Yawa. His name means “peace and tranquility” in the scriptures, reflecting his parents' hope that he would live safely and avoid conflict. His disappearance prompts the family to offer 40 Hutrall Gold Coins for his safe return. 34
Despite his parents' concern, Milo runs away from home to seek the Spring Secret Realm, believing its rumored power-enhancing spring could close the gap between himself and his exceptionally strong elder brother. He particularly wants to become strong enough that his mother will no longer need to argue with his father over his future. 43 44
His early journey is perilous. He survives an encounter with a bird-type Magic Beast in Arter Forest, then nearly falls prey to a Phantom Ghost imitating Yawa. Guter destroys the monster and saves him, earning Milo's sincere gratitude. 43
Appearance
Milo is a young nobleman who travels in practical robes and carries a longsword.
- Carries a notched longsword, damaged during his fight with a bird-type Magic Beast. 43
- Keeps his family's crest on his person as proof of his identity. 44
- Possesses a sealed scroll containing the map to the Spring Secret Realm. 44
Personality
Milo is earnest, respectful, and strongly devoted to his family—especially his mother. Even after learning of the reward offered for his return, he refuses to go home empty-handed because he does not want Yawa's worry to have been “for nothing.” 44
He is conscious of his limited aptitude beside his father and elder brother, which fuels his fixation on finding an external means to grow stronger. Though inexperienced and frequently reckless, he does not easily abandon his goal; when the Labyrinth appears looted, he recovers from his disappointment and continues searching. 43 67
Milo is also open-handed and grateful. He offers Guter and Serie access to his map and is willing to share the spring water as repayment for saving his life. 44 Later experiences teach him that external opportunities cannot replace persistence and personal effort. 80

Swordsmanship
Milo has received warrior training from his father and family, though he considers himself far behind his elder brother.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Search for the Spring Secret Realm
Milo leaves Frich in search of a rumored spring that can greatly increase a person's strength. After Guter saves him in Arter Forest, he shares his map and invites Guter and Serie to join him; they decline because they must reach the Holy City. Serie nevertheless warns him to withdraw and contact her if he discovers signs of human activity in the ruins. 44
Journey with Himmel
While continuing alone through the Huyvia Mountain Range, Milo falls from a cliff and is rescued by Hero Himmel. Recognizing Himmel as his idol, he eagerly asks to accompany him toward the Volpen Basin. Himmel accepts and later agrees to help explore the secret realm. 49 53
Milo is briefly detained by his uncle, Count Gulanat, acting on instructions from Milo's parents. Himmel vouches for him and secures permission for Milo to continue the expedition under his protection. 54 55
Labyrinth and Human Potion Laboratory
Milo joins Guter, Serie, Himmel, and later Frieren in investigating the map's locations. Although repeated failures leave him discouraged, Himmel encourages him to keep his focus on the Spring Secret Realm rather than the Labyrinth's missing treasures. 67
The group ultimately traces the route to the ruins of a Human Potion Laboratory, where Milo helps Guter locate a sealed pipe connected to the supposed secret realm. 76 77 They learn that the “spring” is groundwater that flooded the laboratory's medicine storage and diluted its potions—not a genuine source of power. Milo accepts that he must rely on persistence and cultivation rather than shortcuts. 80
Return to Frich
After the expedition, Milo decides to return home and hires escorts in the Duke Region. He asks Himmel to write a favorable letter to his parents in hopes of softening his father's punishment. 82 85
He later hosts Guter's party at the Olden residence, recounting that his father beat him after his return. Despite this, he remains cheerful and hospitable. 135 He also privately warns Hafka and Sola about the danger posed to foreign nobles in Frich. 136

- Guter — savior and later expedition companion. Milo trusts him with the secret-realm map and relies on his guidance during the ruins exploration. 43 44 77
