Background
Thunder is the reincarnated Thunder God, though he initially appears to have rejected his former identity and abandoned the pursuit of his old body, equipment, and legacy. His former home, the Thunder Realm, is identified as the place where the Thunder God was born. 304 422
While studying at the Pacification Empire Academy, Thunder advances at an abnormal pace and is repeatedly struck by lightning for unexplained reasons. He experiences a persistent feeling of loss and emptiness, later revealed to be connected to William Blackleaf acquiring the Thunder God’s remains, left hand, ring, and saber. 427 437
Personality
Thunder is proud, confrontational, and highly possessive of his former divine legacy. He resents William’s exploitation of that legacy, particularly the theft and use of his left hand, yet he does not simply attack without consideration; he tests William’s qualifications and eventually recognizes his growth. 437 439 610
Repeated humiliation and loss push his anger into an “inner demon.” Moxis considers this state dangerous enough that Thunder might use his Origin power if driven too far. 608
Abilities & Skills
Thunder Manipulation
Thunder possesses exceptional command of lightning, combining extreme movement speed, powerful ranged attacks, and close-quarters combat. William acknowledges that Thunder’s application of lightning is vastly more refined than his own. 438
- Can transform into lightning to move and attack at extreme speed. 438
- Uses lightning-infused physical attacks and ranged techniques. 438 439
- Fights effectively against other lightning-element professionals despite their shared resistance to thunder damage. 609
Thunder Domain
Thunder can deploy a large-scale Thunder Domain that spreads across a radius of roughly ten miles and detonates Yin Lightning effects within affected targets. 609
- Amplifies his control over a battlefield saturated with thunder. 609
- Can force internal damage through accumulated Yin Lightning rather than relying on external destruction alone. 609 610
- William endured Thunder’s domain for over thirty minutes and received the talent Thunder Annihilation as a reward. 440
Yin Lightning
Thunder’s Yin Lightning bypasses conventional durability by damaging internal organs. Every two successful attacks can trigger the accumulated effect. 610
- Particularly dangerous against heavily armored or highly regenerative opponents. 610
- Causes severe internal injury even when external lightning damage is resisted. 609 610
Lightning Spear
Thunder can throw a lightning spear that crosses time and space to strike its target with a cause-and-effect effect. 609
- The attack is described as effectively unavoidable once cast. 609
- Successfully pierced William’s chest and pinned him to the ground. 609
Thunder Annihilation
Thunder Annihilation converts 20% of Thunder’s lightning attack power into true damage. 440
- Provides stable true damage without depending on weapons or equipment. 440
- William later obtains the same talent after receiving Thunder’s domain guidance. 440
Relationships
- William Blackleaf — Rival and inheritor of much of Thunder’s former legacy. Thunder confronts William over taking his left hand and occupying his former body’s legacy; their battles develop into a hostile but increasingly respectful rivalry. 437 438 610
- Moxis — Understands Thunder’s unstable inner demon and warns William not to provoke him into using Origin power during their duel. 608
- Caesar Zhi Ge — Introduces Thunder and William at a gathering, expecting the two lightning-element Epic professionals to have common ground. 436
- William’s allies — Their speculation that William may be the Thunder God’s reincarnation enrages Thunder, as William has taken both his relics and public identity. 605
Story Role / Major Arcs
Pacification Empire Academy
Thunder appears as an academy student whose Grandmaster advancement and unexplained lightning strikes distinguish him from ordinary professionals. He is believed to be suppressing his true Battle Aura. 427
Discovery of William’s Theft
After meeting William, Thunder identifies him as the person who took his left hand and occupied his former body’s legacy. His anger is intensified by the loss of his divine relics and the sense that something vital has been taken from him. 437
Battle of the “New and Old” Thunder Gods
Thunder duels William to test whether he deserves to wield the Thunder God’s hands. Their matching lightning affinities limit ordinary thunder damage, forcing both to rely on speed, combat technique, domains, and Yin Lightning. 438 439
Inner Demon Duel
Thunder later challenges William again after William obtains further divine equipment. Their duel is interrupted by a Flame Demon, and both stop rather than risk mutual destruction. Thunder acknowledges William as a formidable lightning professional, gives him the Thunder Law ability, and leaves him with a warning about future enemies. 608 610
Trivia
- Thunder is repeatedly struck by lightning, including immediately after commenting on the phenomenon himself. 427
- He considers himself the ultimate wielder of true Thunder Power despite acknowledging William’s rapid growth. 610
- His former Thunder Realm is inhabited by Thunder Spirits that recognize William as one of their own because of the Thunder God’s left hand. 424 425
