A Son-in-Law, Part One

The legend of the Jade City Treasure had been discovered by the adventurer Senqi a century ago, though the treasure itself had been spoken of for over a thousand years. Senqi had brought back gemstones and said Jade City was well preserved, but his party had too little time to find the legendary Divine Tree.

The Jade City Divine Tree had been part of that legend for a thousand years, much like the Golden Bell. According to the tale, a Divine Tree stood in Jade City, made from its finest jade and jewels.

The people of Jade City had brought those treasures together to create the tree. It stood within the Jade City Holy Land, guarded by their people for generations.

After the Jade City Treasure was discovered a century ago, countless people coveted it. Even more, though, sought the legendary Jade City Divine Tree.

Rogge was no exception. Charlotte Linlin and the others wanted the Jade City Divine Tree even more, and it might not have been the only thing she wanted.

After searching for a long time, Rogge still had not found the Divine Tree. But inside a building at the center of Jade City, his group found a mural.

The mural was clear. It depicted many people adorned with gemstones, kneeling together with torches raised as they worshipped a willow-like tree.

The tree shimmered with too many colors to describe as any single hue. Yet despite its intricate colors, it was not jarring. It was beautiful.

"Looks like the Jade City Divine Tree really exists," Jelly and the others said excitedly.

"The Golden Bell and the Jade City Divine Tree—both legendary treasures!" Ham said happily.

"Maybe we've been looking in the wrong place," Rogge said, studying the mural.
