Xiao Wu meets Jiang Lan at a restaurant near the Star Dou Great Forest, introducing herself as “the Wu from dancing.” She and Ning Rongrong find his penguin outfit adorable, but Jiang Lan reverses their attempt to pet him by patting both of their heads and calling them “good girls.” 50

Er Ming’s Defeat and the Three Favors

After Jiang Lan defeats Er Ming and Doro is lightly injured in the encounter, Xiao Wu sincerely apologizes and offers three favors from herself and Er Ming as compensation. She then invites Jiang Lan, Doro, and Dugu Bo to stay at her home for the night. 58 59

She stipulates that their promised assistance must not involve anything wicked, and asks Jiang Lan to allow the frightened Er Ming to climb out of the crater. Although unsettled by her suspicion that Dugu Bo is a Titled Douluo, she leads the group home. The next morning, she bids Jiang Lan and Doro an emotional farewell and asks them to return. 59 60

Shrek Academy Spar

During the Shrek Academy–Heaven Dou Royal Academy spar, Xiao Wu uses her speed and close-combat skills to pressure Yu Feng and later assists Zhu Zhuqing against Ye Lingling. Ye Lingling’s superior palm techniques ultimately repel her and help secure Heaven Dou’s complete victory. 75 76

Afterward, Xiao Wu becomes jealous of Tang San’s attention to Ye Lingling. Tang San reassures her and pats her head, reducing her unease, though he remains absorbed in investigating the unfamiliar martial arts. Jiang Lan arrives and defeats Xue Beng with a single punch. Overcome with relief, Xiao Wu embraces Jiang Lan and kisses his cheek before accepting his offer to stay at Honey Snow Ice City. 93 94

Refuge at Honey Snow Ice City

Xiao Wu asks to remain at Jiang Lan’s home because she does not want to return to Blue Tyrant Academy for the next few days. Jiang Lan immediately welcomes her and offers extra-sweet pearl milk tea with coconut jelly, asking only that she help test his new drinks. Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing also choose to stay. 94 95

During the stay, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing secretly enter Jiang Lan’s room and fall asleep beside him. Dugu Yan discovers them the following morning, prompting a comic interrogation. Xiao Wu remains cheerful and joins Rongrong in claiming that they entered the wrong room. 96

Tournament Spectator

Xiao Wu remains close to Jiang Lan during the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, teasing him for joining Skywater Academy while demanding milk tea from him after the event. She watches his victory over Feng Xiaotian with mixed feelings. 104 105

Before the tournament, she and Ning Rongrong learn that Jiang Lan has become Skywater Academy’s substitute and secret weapon. They respond with playful jealousy over his time with the academy’s girls and anticipate facing him as opponents. Xiao Wu nevertheless gives him extra roasted chestnuts when he leaves and reminds him to rest. 102

Tournament Battle Against Skywater Academy

Xiao Wu participates in Shrek’s match against Skywater Academy. After Jiang Lan breaks apart Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing’s Hell White Tiger and counters Tang San’s ambush, Tang San orders Xiao Wu to attack from the right while Ma Hongjun harasses Jiang Lan from above. Xiao Wu closes in with a fully charged Waist Bow, but Jiang Lan withstands her kick, flicks her ankle to numb her leg, and throws her out of the arena. 106 107

Following Zhu Zhuqing’s surrender, Xiao Wu initially refuses Jiang Lan’s offered orange and sulks over the severity of their defeat. She has no genuine resentment toward him, however, and accepts a segment after he peels it for her. Jiang Lan offers dinner as an apology, and she leaves the arena with the mixed group heading to Red Maple Barbecue. 108

Scattering of the Shrek Seven Monsters

Shrek’s early elimination contributes to its members drifting apart. While Ning Rongrong chooses not to return to the academy and Zhu Zhuqing seeks instruction from Jiang Lan, Xiao Wu remains emotionally preoccupied with Tang San’s affairs. Rongrong reports that Xiao Wu also wants to learn from Jiang Lan, and he agrees that she may join his training group when she is ready. 113

Farewell and Return to the Star Dou Great Forest

When Jiang Lan returns to his courtyard, Guga One informs him that Xiao Wu left two days earlier through a secret passage and should already be back in the Star Dou Great Forest. She leaves a letter explaining that she wants time alone at home and does not know how to face Tang San. She asks Jiang Lan not to seek him out or settle the score on her behalf. 141

The letter also praises Jiang Lan as the most remarkable child she has met, encourages him to defend himself if bullied, and asks him to look after Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing. She invites him to visit the forest for wild berries, teases Doro about her tangerine habit, and admits taking two pieces of his hidden tangerine candy for the journey.
