Background
Weevil was controlled by Miss Bakkin, who manipulated him through promises of food and appeals to his desire to please “Father” Whitebeard. Though physically monstrous, he behaved simply and obediently, following her commands with little independent judgment. He wielded a long-handled blade and bore a thin, upward-curving white crescent mustache resembling Whitebeard’s. 38 40
At the Rondaldoron Sea, Bakkin ordered Weevil to kill Zephyr. Weevil’s strength proved largely immune to Zephyr’s Haki-powered strikes, and he brutally defeated the former admiral while Zephyr tried to buy time for his trainees to escape. 38 39
Roya arrived before Weevil could deliver the final blow. After effortlessly blocking Weevil’s weapon and repeatedly overpowering him, Roya killed Bakkin when she attempted to flee. Her death triggered Weevil’s berserk transformation. 39 40
Once the Marine warship had evacuated, Roya released Ryujin Jakka and defeated Weevil with Caressing Slash, breaking his weapon and inflicting injuries severe enough to make him flee in fear. Roya then trapped Weevil’s consciousness inside an Illusion-Illusion Fruit technique, turning him into a permanently controllable war machine rather than killing him. 41
Roya later stationed Weevil on Ohara as Robin and Olvia’s protector. Under Roya’s command, Weevil fought Akainu and withstood repeated magma attacks through rapid regeneration before being recalled. 43 44 45
Appearance
Weevil is a massive, disproportionate man whose upper body is heavily muscled while his legs are comparatively thin. He initially stands nearly seven meters tall, but his berserk state increases his height to over ten meters. 38 40
- Long hair reaching his legs, with braided hair at both temples. 38
- Three prominent scars across his body. 38
- Thin, long, upward-curving white crescent mustache resembling Whitebeard’s. 38
- Bloodshot eyes and swelling muscles while enraged. 40
- Originally fought with a long-handled saber, which Roya later destroyed. 38 41
Personality
Weevil is simple-minded, food-motivated, and highly dependent on whoever gives him orders. Under Bakkin’s influence, he followed lethal commands because she promised him meals and invoked Whitebeard’s approval. 38 40
He becomes violently emotional when hurt or distressed. Bakkin’s death caused him to abandon restraint, repeatedly scream for Roya to die, and transform into a larger, beast-like state. 40
After Roya defeated and mentally imprisoned him, Weevil became obedient to Roya’s commands and accepted Robin and Olvia as authorities he must protect. 41 43
Abilities & Skills
Monstrous Physical Strength
Weevil possesses overwhelming physical power, stated to be comparable to Whitebeard in his youth.
- Zephyr’s powerful Haki-enhanced strikes barely affected him. 38
- His attacks broke Zephyr’s leg and left the former admiral near death. 38 39
- In berserk form, he split an island in two with a single sword slash. 40
- He struck Akainu hard enough to overwhelm him during their aerial battle. 44
Extreme Durability and Regeneration
Weevil can recover from otherwise crippling injuries within seconds.
- A hole pierced through the back of his head healed completely within five or six seconds. 40
- Roya’s Caressing Slash shattered his weapon, cut through his defenses, and blasted him into a mountain; Weevil survived due to his regenerative ability. 41
- Akainu’s magma attacks burned holes into his body, but the injuries healed within roughly three seconds. 44
- His endurance appears immense, allowing him to continue attacking without visible fatigue. 44 45
Armament Haki
Weevil can coat his body and weapon in Armament Haki.
- He used Armament Haki to reinforce his long-handled saber against Roya’s Caressing Slash, though the weapon was still severed. 41
- By the battle at Ohara, his Armament Haki had reached the entry level of the intermediate stage. 44
- His Haki remains inferior to Roya’s peak Armament Haki. 44
Berserk Transformation
Bakkin’s death triggered a drastic physical escalation.
- His body expanded from nearly seven meters to over ten meters tall. 40
- His muscles swelled uncontrollably and oozed blood-like sweat. 40
- The transformation greatly increased his destructive output, but reduced him to an enraged, beast-like state. 40 41
Illusion Enslavement
Roya trapped Weevil’s consciousness inside an illusion after breaking his will.
- Weevil’s mind was completely consumed within one second while he was afraid and mentally unstable. 41
- External commands alter the illusion experienced by his consciousness, ensuring his obedience. 41
- This control allowed Roya to repurpose him as Ohara’s defender. 42 43
Equipment
- Long-handled saber — Weevil’s primary weapon during his battles with Zephyr and Roya; it was broken by Roya’s Caressing Slash. 38 41
Relationships
- Miss Bakkin — Former controller and mother figure. She manipulated him with food and promises of Whitebeard’s approval; Roya killed her when she attempted to flee. 38 40
- Roya — Former enemy who defeated him, imprisoned his mind in an illusion, and turned him into a loyal weapon. 41 42
- Zephyr — Opponent whom Weevil nearly killed while following Bakkin’s orders. 38 39
- Robin — Assigned by Roya as one of Weevil’s commanding authorities; Weevil must obey and protect her. 43
- Olvia — Assigned by Roya as one of Weevil’s commanding authorities and protectees. 43 46
- Akainu — Opponent at Ohara. Weevil’s regeneration allowed him to endure Akainu’s magma and gain the upper hand before Roya recalled him. 44 45
