Background / History

Elbaf is a Giant kingdom in the New World and is described as the world’s strongest nation. Its Warrior Village produces exceptionally fierce fighters, while the kingdom is also the birthplace of the legendary Giant Warrior Pirates. 118

The kingdom is home to numerous villages and towns, including Warrior Village. Giant warriors traditionally regard strength, combat ability, and personal honor as central parts of their identity. Elbaf’s Giants also possess a strong connection to the sea, using enormous fishing boats to haul in massive Sea Kings. 118

Elbaf is the homeland of Rando, the son of the famed Giant warrior Dorry. Although Rando was considered a dwarf among Giants because of his congenital condition, he trained intensely and became the strongest warrior of his generation. His return to Elbaf was welcomed by the elders Dopps and Jeton, who had helped raise him. 31 118

Geography and Appearance

Elbaf is a vast island kingdom characterized by Giant-scale settlements, enormous ships, and a landscape capable of supporting a large warrior population.

Elbaf is ruled by King Piersa, known as the Warrior King. He is a fifteen-meter-tall Giant who wears heavy golden armor and carries a decorated longsword. His royal family includes Prince Loki and Princess Meila. 134

Two respected elders from Warrior Village hold considerable social authority and act as important voices in discussions concerning Elbaf’s alliances. They welcome Rando warmly but remain cautious when Teach proposes using Elbaf’s military strength. 120

Elbaf’s female warriors are commanded by Rando’s mother, who is identified as the kingdom’s strongest female warrior. After Rando leaves, she takes up heavy armor and vows to protect him. 135

Culture and Customs

Warrior Honor

Elbaf’s culture places exceptional value on strength and the honor of facing powerful opponents. Giants often regard challenging a stronger warrior as a privilege rather than reckless behavior. 123

This attitude is reflected in the Grand Gladiatorial Tournament, where warriors compete for the title of strongest warrior and the honor of meeting the king. Tens of thousands of Giants participate in the annual event. 118

Marriage Tradition

Elbaf’s royal customs expect the princess to marry a powerful warrior. Princess Meila’s admiration for Teach is therefore treated as potentially significant, although Teach remains oblivious to her interest and rejects the idea of romance. 130

Warrior’s Dance

The Warrior’s Dance is a secret military formation used by seven elite Giants. It synchronizes their movements, shields, and weapons so that they fight as a single coordinated force.

Grand Gladiatorial Tournament

The Grand Gladiatorial Tournament is Elbaf’s annual national competition and one of its highest sources of warrior prestige.

Teach, Burgess, and Rando enter the tournament as outsiders or unusual contestants. Teach defeats Gusel, Warrior Village’s strongest fighter, without using his Devil Fruit abilities, then defeats four additional Giants simultaneously. 123

Burgess advances through brutal hand-to-hand combat, while Rando initially faces mockery because his height makes him appear to be an outsider. After his Giant heritage and congenital dwarfism are explained, the audience begins supporting him. 130

The seven-Giant Warrior’s Dance proves powerful enough to knock Burgess away, but Teach ends the match with the Tremor-Tremor Fruit. He is declared the tournament champion. 133

Alliance with the Blackbeard Pirates

Teach initially visits Elbaf to recruit Giant warriors. The Giants are suspicious of his political goals but recognize the strength of his crew and Rando’s standing among them. 118 120

After winning the tournament, Teach is invited to the royal palace and meets King Piersa. He proposes an alliance against the World Government, offering:

• An end to Giant slave auctions
• A doubling of Elbaf’s territory
• Additional fertile land
• Advanced equipment
• Support from a coalition involving the Blackbeard, Whitebeard, and Big Mom forces
• Financial backing from Gild Tesoro and the Golden City 120 134 135

Piersa accepts the agreement after weighing the political and military benefits. The alliance is celebrated with a banquet before Teach’s crew leaves Elbaf. 135

Story Role / Major Arcs

Elbaf Giant Kingdom Arc

Elbaf becomes the setting for Teach’s attempt to secure the Giant Kingdom’s military support. Rando’s homecoming provides the Blackbeard Pirates with a trusted connection to the Giants, while the tournament allows Teach and Burgess to demonstrate their superiority over Elbaf’s warriors. 118 135

Final War Against the World Government

Elbaf’s alliance becomes strategically important during the global war against the World Government. Giant forces join the Pirate Alliance, overwhelm enemy troops, and help block World Government reinforcements. 305 315

The Giants’ arrival contributes to the Pirate Alliance’s advantage as the World Government’s armies begin to collapse. 315

Later Status

Twenty years later, Elbaf maintains its closest foreign relationship with the Blackbeard Pirates. The connection is strengthened by Rando’s position as a member of Teach’s crew and his ties to both Dorry and the commander of Elbaf’s female warrior corps. 335
